So I was just waiting for some &^%* to say something like this, (And CM, know I am not trying to pick on you personally)

It's not funny, not true, a fair number of us veterans here who have been snusing 10+ times longer than you like and prefer portions. I don't think anybody here wants to read me one more time why, so....

But comments like that, even said in fun, are damaging. And unfair to newbies who can't tell on the internet if you are joking or now. Please stop implying, even in jest, that los is better, or that somehow, you won't become "advanced" in you snus usage until you use los. It's just insulting.

Los is like a plug of mud shoved up your lip. Now I don't hate los, I've emptied a few cans myself. I really liked it at first. But as time elapsed, I find portion to be more satisfying for many reasons. It's neat, clean, and more discreet. I don't feel the need to rinse my mouth out after a portion. I also lay in bed at night with a portion and watch TV, and when I'm done, I just pull it out and lay ot on the table. Also, I get more flavor from portions. I can squeeze my lip, without fearing a mudslide. Slip it out, gnaw on it, switch sides, turn it around. Also, I find portions more comfortable. With los, often the pris would be packed too hard, and be like a rock(or a Tootsie Roll) on my gum. I can't move it around. Touching it often makes it break apart. Now with that said, I do still find los to be a sometimes enjoyable experience, if I get a comfortably placed pris that doesn't fall apart. But there have been times, I'd end up wasting 3 pris or so, because they'd even break up, or would be uncomfortable. Perhaps it's lack of los experience, but this is how I currently feel.

CM being from Finland might have something to do with his opinion of portions. 8) There's an attitude in Scandanavia that portions are like snus with training wheels used to convert smokers.

Another thing I notice is people here would use lös more if they weren't so worried of what other people thought of them. CM has just got more of an in your face attitude, if you want to use lös, just do it and stop asking for permission from mommy.

might be lack of experience still. im really starting to get the los beast tamed. i reward it with a gentle caress of the tongue when its being good, but i keep the pimp hand of my gums strong in case i need to bitchslap it back into its place. i didnt realize how much i needed los in my life until i started going through these mystery portions. its my babe the blue ox, i may never be able to part with it.

that said, i do use a lot of portions, potentially majority shareholder of my snus usage, i bring usually a white and regular with me before work, sometimes a third option. if im taking a long trip somewhere, ill bring about 5 cans. i see no need to limit my use to only los, or only portions, theyre both a big part of my routine.

LOL, I DIDN'T remember that, so yes, he is *sorta* forgiven. Still, I am gonna say something every time I see something like that posted. May not be able to change Finland, but won't let it go unchallenged here.

And NO, some people wouldn't use los more even if every other single person around them were don't it too. I just don't really like it. :wink:

I'm getting experience at the los. I was getting a lot of mudslides with the Phantom, which weren't unwelcome as when it spreads over your gums it delivers great nicotine absorption....but what I'm doing now is squeezing the frigging daylights out of it on the icetool and it behaves itself nicely now.

I've stuck in an order exclusively of los - here it is:

•Offroad Icemint, Loose - 2 pcs.
•Phantom Brown, Loose - 3 pcs.
•Offroad Cranberry, Loose - 1 pcs.

I especially love the Gots yellow--I could eat that with a sherbet spoon.

I was doing the "hillbilly method" a little yesterday, when I'd misplaced my icetool. One nice thing was the little shower of crumbles which would "kick off" the flavor, then the wad would (usually) stay in place quite nicely. Since it wasn't as firmly packed, it delivered more flavor faster, although I was also ready to get rid of it much sooner.

I was burning up my beginner's luck though, and now I am happily back to icetooling along.
