I agree....no roll on the mini mint. If you are gonna do minis, try a variety of them. Like Still Catch Violet Licorice! Love that stuff right now.
Are you an ex-dipper? Cause I caution on the Ice Fruit. Hated it, though it did smell like bubble gum if I remember correctly. Just tasted like butt. And not the good kind. I would see if you like the Gote Rape #2 before the Ice Fruit. Its a more subtle flavor.
I also agree to take the General White out of the order since you are getting the original. If you like the original, then go for the white.
Other than a couple of Catch every once in a while, I'm really only into stark/sterk snus, so I can really only recommend those:
Grov Svart
General Sterk
Skruf Stark (los if you are into that)
General Onyx
When I 1st started snus, I did not love it at 1st. I more so liked the idea of it, and the exoticism appealed to me. But it did take some time and effort to get it down, and get acclimated to it. And though I am still rather new, my tastes have changed all over the place. I 1st went for flavored snus, as I didn't think I'd really like more plain tobacco, so I focused on flavored snus most, but for me, I really got tired of flavored snus. The only one I can use and still enjoy is General Wintergreen now and again, and I have some Thunder wintergreen I haven't cracked open yet. I also thought not too long ago, that I liked whites the most, but now, after using this can of Lucky Strike Original, and having emptied cans of Ettan and Grov original, I now think I prefer original portions, of more full flavored tobacco snus.
I agree with this post. Your tastes change. When I started i was only into flavored and minis, portions (white) only. Now I mostly use original portions, and I'm using alot of los too. So as good as flavored is (and it's what you'll lean towards coming from Camel "SNUS"), try some non flavored to. may i suggest ettan? it is a great, very mild non flavored snus. and definately a good one to start with.
Gonna chime in as well on the roll thing. coming up on 6 months of snusing and just now ordering rolls. If I had ordered rolls of some of my first likes...I would be regretting it at this point.
On the other hand, If your not planning on trying a ton of different flavors, then go for it! Lord knows, there are days I wish I only had 3 to choose from LOL. Then again, that's a big part of the appeal for many of us.
As some have mentioned...even if you like the General mini mints...in time..they may turn on you. I've seen this happen time and again here.
Skruff starks are starting to on me for instance....so I'm ordering Skruf Stark White to compare.
It's all good either way...worse case is the snus exchange here or perhaps a box pass.
i'll chime in with the others, i'd hold off on the whole roll thing until a little further down the road. there's a bunch of flavors out there to experiment with then after a while some of 'em just grow on you. just yesterday i received my first rolls i've ordered, odens es and thunder wintergreen portions. i always gotta have those, i ran out for a few days and i never want to run out of those again. enjoy yourself, experiment around, everyone has different tastes. there's even people who like level (no names mentioned :P ).
I guess that I am an exception to the rule guys! In my first order there was, a diamond in the rough that I got, called Generl Extra sterk Portions and I have ordered like 4.5 rolls of it to this day and never tired of it! The only snus I really tired of was my jak's ice fruit ,but i still buy it bythe roll too, as it is a snus that when you want it nothing can take it's place! I agree though, if you are going to buy a roll get a more neutral or more "traditional swedish style" snus you won't tire of it and you will come to love it! Enjoy and good luck!!
There's a good rule of thumb about buying full rolls vs. single cans: only buy full rolls of a brand that gets you excited before you use it. I think another member of this forum once said that in an old post. This really helps to make up one's mind.
Don't buy a full roll of a brand that you like until you're absolutely sure that you like it in the long term, but a brand that gets you fevered even before you open the can is a good "roll-buy" also for relatively new snusers.
Let me just throw another thought out there about this subject.
I am assuming that folks often buy rolls thinking "I will save me some money" But how much money are you already saving buy just not buying cigarettes?? On another thread, I posted that I went from spending $50 a week on tobacco to less than $20 a week now.
So really, what does it matter if you spend a few more pennies .
ONLY rolls I have ever bought is snus I have a long time history using frequently. So Elyxr of course, as I know I wll use it. Retro White, Odens Kanel ES, and for a while, Camel White.
But I have put in $200 orders without buying a single roll. I buy 4 or 5 of the ones I think I really like, 2 -3 of ones I know I use occasionally, and maybe 1 -2 of snus I am checking out.
I guess I just always preferd spending my money to get as much diversity in an order as possible, especially in months 6 - 24. Eventually, my tastes narrowed significantly, at least until they took my Retro and Camel away.
But I really encourage folks not to buy rolls simply because they think they are saving money. Ending up with 7 cans you don't really want kinda blows that argument out of the water. Be happy with the money you already are saving using snus, and use some of that to get as broad a selection a possible.

part of something i'm working on for my blog:
Snus has saved me so much money. When I was a smoker, I was going through a pack a day, at $6.00 a day. That's $180 a month! Insanity! Now on average, I spend about $0.91 a day on snus (with my current usage of about half a can a day, which is satisfying for me), which is only about $27.51 a month. I'm saving about $152.49 a month. It's great. Switching to snus has saved me $914.94 over the past 6 months. It's great.
snus saves money. the only reason i suggested not buying rolls is i know from my experience that general mini mint will turn on you, as it did on me and i know it did on many others.
but sage's advice is good, use that money you're saving to get a broad selection. most of my first orders were very broad, and large. i didn't buy a roll until i had settled into how much i like thunder frosted, and it is still one of only 4 i buy by the roll (the others being elixyr, ettan white, and offroad cranberry strong).
So I would like to put together a sampler of minis. It seems like Buysnus has a good assortment so could you guys give me a rundown of maybe your top...
Hi all. I'm new to the board and new to Snus. I'd have to say that I tried the Camel Snus looking to quit smoking but wanted better quality so I looked...
