    Changing tastes

So after about a year of snusing, it seems like I'm not liking the sterks as much as I once did. My last order was 1 roll of Grov White, 1 roll of general White, and 1 roll of Claq Qui. I had been noticing that for the past few months, I had been reaching for regular strength portions more often, so I adjusted my order accordingly.

I got the General White because General Sterk has been one of my favorites for a while now. I have to say, this one is probably going to be my go to snus now. I can understand why it's the most popular snus of all time.

My plan was to have one regular can and one sterk can open at all times. I still love the flavor of the claq qui, but it just seems too strong now for some reason. Whenever I put one in, I can't seem to keep it in for long after it starts running. Might have something to do with not smoking cigarettes regularly in almost a year.

has anyone else noticed this? That the strong portions you used to love are just not as pleasurable anymore?

Makes sense to me. I mostly use lös, but I like some of the portion only flavors like Claq Qui. Luckily, I still love the heavy running stuff, like General Maxi, but I could see my tastes changing as they do over time.

Anyways, go with flow of the changing taste. Viva Variety!

      Edit: Welcome!

After two and a half years, I still find my tastes changing. I too have been doing the one sterk and one regular can open for at least a year. But have been noticing the past few months I am using less and less sterk. Ask me next year, I am sure it will be differnt again. Just seems to be the way of snus.

On another note, does anyone know when General started doing the snus swirl in the regular strength white portions? The last can I bought of this was about a year ago and it was all just thrown in there like normal snus. Seems like it tastes better than before also. It probably hasn't changed at all flavorwise. General white was the first snus I tried back before I ordered any from overseas and it was definitely not as nice as it is now. This stuff is good!

I've noticed a great change in my taste and perception of snus the longer I've used it. Granted, I've only been a user for about 6 months, but in that short period of time, I've seen my tastes grow.

I went from a flavored mini guy only, to an open mind (not liking Bergamot doesn't mean I'm closed minded, it just means it's not my thing), to putting large amounts of los in my mouth with the Icetool I never thought I'd buy.

            The Smell
When I first started, and got that White Portion kit from Northerner I think it was, I opened a can of General White, took a big smell, and threw it in my console, put the kit in the freezer, and vowed to never open that vile smelling thing again. I didn't know anything about it, but now I've grown to know that the stronger the smell, the fresher the snus. I appreciate the smell. I've grown to like it.

            The Flavor
If it wasn't mint, sweet, or flavored - it wasn't going near my mouth. I used and pimped flavored minis for a long time until a wiser, older friend on SnusOn gave me a good kick in the butt. Now I keep an open mind - and when anyone asks for advice, I do the same. Granted, I don't like Bergamot. Just personal taste. But I'm not exclusive to flavored minis. My regulars include Offroad Cranberry Strong and Thunder Frosted (both flavored), but I've also kept an open mind and have now included Elixyr Energy, Ettan (White), Ettan los, and Goteborg's Prima Fint. My stock of snus includes both flavored and unflavored, and I'm glad I have opened my mind to a wider variety.

            Portions/Size
I NEVER thought I'd use los. Like NEVER, EVER gonna use it. Now, I love it. I went from minis to them being an occasional thing. I use regulars, whites, and I use los daily now. I never thought I'd own or buy an Icetool and use los, but since I've opened my mind - I'm glad, and keeping an open mind and my taste growing and expanding, I'm glad things turned out this way.

So yeah, things have changed alot since I first started. Tastes have matured, I've grown to understand snus more, and appreciate the things I couldn't stand in the beginning, but I think that's just natural. I think that's what happens as you use it, your tastes mature and develop, and through an open mind you will come into a wider and much appreciated variety.
