Sage's Retro Replacement Quest

I'm very interested in this thread, as I have just discovered Camel White, only to have it ripped away 3 days later. I would like to see the results of Sage's quest, as I'm sure it will make for fun reading and posting.

Roda Lacket white and General White are my two main stay regular portions. General Onyx and Claq Qui are my go to sterks.

My favorite by far is RL/CQ.

I have a good variety to spice things up ... but RL/CQ is my day in day out snus.

I like RL as an occasional change of pace. But too "flavored" to use all the time, at least for me

It was that way for me at first.... but after the first can combo RL/CQ. It's toned way down and its very subtle. I like RL los in the evenings when I get home.

But someone ruined me on los.... I don't know that i'll ever get over trying the Kardus 2008. It would be my one and only if I could buy it every day.

I litteraly mourn for it every time I make a pris of los. It really was THAT good.

You go, girl! Have you tried/what did you think of Grovsnus Svart? I know it's different than Lucky and Grov White, but it grew on me and now is a staple. That base rich tobacco/salt flavor is still there like the other Grovs....the Black is just a little more..interesting.

Yeah, I like Grove Black. But you know that is a whole different type of snus that has nothing to do with Retro. It is very rich , a great snus occasionally but no way could I use that every day. So not applicable here Anyways, let us focus this thread back onto what is about, my Replacement of Retro. Look for my comments on my first test, Granit White by the end of the day. Thanks for the welcome back! I've been too busy lately and always loved SnusOn. I'll try to be back more often.

As to your Retro replacement quest, that rumor that CAMEL White Portion was being de-listed by JTI is completely false. Getting someone to ship it to you is more difficult thanks to bored lawyers at Reynolds, but they are only targeting SPECIFIC Swedish online snus stores with lawsuits.....and very conveniently ignoring others.

You may have to buy from someone you normally don't, but both JTI CAMEL snus products are very available in the US; at least so far.

Good to talk to you again! I may have a can of Retro in the freezer. If it's the White, I'll PM you.

I've gathered that about Camel Larry.

Unfortunately, I have been losing a bit of faith in Camel as have used much lately. Typical for just about every snus I ever had OTHER than Retro white.

So I need to see if I can find something even closer than Camel. Another White I really can use day in and day out.

But if I must, then a combination of Camel and Lucky Strike I do know would be close. I suspect if I split the duty between the two of them, they could hold up like retro did at least.

But this lawyer crap, coming the same &^%$ day I learned about Retro, was really just too cruel. I know I can find them both still. I have had numerous private messages pointing exactly where to go. But the problem Larry, is for how long??? Just no way I can base my regular portions, the ones I use all the time on Snus that could get yanked away from me at the stroke of a lawyers nasty letter. It seems like too much of a PITA to chase that. I don't want the bother and I don't want the stress.

So I search for something else. It should at least be a broadening journey for me, so if I have to do it, I might as well make a big deal and have some fun with it.

And I really would like to see you here more often. You have much to add. I just prefer this context to others. This is home, this is where I am comfortable. I do hope you stick around here more when you can.

And btw, I saw the pics from your trip. Wow, you must have had such an amazing time.

Switch to General, Sagedil. You know you must do it. It's inside of you. If you don't choose General, then you will just fall in love with another snus and it will be soon be discontinued...leaving youbroken, shattered and lonely. General will never let you down. As long as snus is produced, General will still exist. It will always be there for you. You can choose either General, or eventual dissapointment. Join us.

Look for my thoughts this afternoon. Was trying to finish can before I spoke, but will write everything up this afternoon regardless....kinda a hint :wink:

But before I do, let me say it is a fine quality snus. Made by the same folks who make Retro and ALL their snus is good quality. And for the price?? Really good. But that is a totally separate issue than the question of whether it can act as a stand in for my Retro. Retro is something I use ALL the time. Almost no snus can stand up to that.

But if you ask me if Granit White is a good snus. Just not maybe for what I am looking for right now. But more later.
