I had tried them in the past...they actually did taste ok, but they were also very light on the nicotine to me. They also were much more expensive than regular cigs so I only smoked maybe a total of 2 cartons of them. There are better in some ways than regular cigs...they do produce alot less tar and smoke since the tobacco is heated instead of burned, but they also produce more carbon monoxide than a regular cig. I'm not sure if it would actually make that much of a difference, but that would be something to consider.

Instead of trying those, I'd suggest picking up an electronic cigarette. The nicotine in them is higher than the Eclipse (depending on what strength of juice you use in them), there is absolutely no smoke or carbon monoxide or tar or all the other thousands of carcinogens that are in regular cigs. I actually combined the e-cig with snus to quit regular cigs with no problem at all after 30+ years of smoking. They are suddenly getting a bad rap out there from Philip Morris and the FDA (big surprise there) and several anti-tobacco idiots. Independent labs come out with a much different picture than the Philip Morris and the FDA labs. They don't contain anti-freeze, just propylene glycol (not ethylene glycol like they're trying to make us believe), nicotine, and flavorings. A starter kit can be gotten for around $40-$50, which is less than a carton of Eclipse and I can almost 100% guarantee you'd enjoy it much more. Don't buy a kit at the mall from one of those kiosks, they're way overpriced and aren't as good. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you a few good links to what I think are the best companies to buy one from and also where to buy the juice.

Or just switch to snus...several have also quit cigs using just that. But I really needed that extra hand to mouth thing to quit. Eventually I'll stop using the e-cig, but right now it's working for me so I'm not worrying about it.

      Hi Sheila,

thanks for the comments. I am not a smoker at all now. It is very very rare I'll have one. I am just curious about Eclipse because it's different, and I think I could smoke it in the house. I think if I got a pack, I'd only smoke maybe 3 a week, as I snus regularly. I just have a curiosity about new(to me) tobacco stuff, and like to try stuff, like my curiosity about Camel snus led me to real snus. The basic idea behind Eclipse seems similar to the e-cig. I'm curious about e-cig too, but don't want to invest a lot of money. I figure a pack of Eclipse might be 6 bucks, but not being a regular smoker, it would last a while and be a small investment.

Oh, I did find where to get these, but to do so, I had to sign up and make an account at the website. The stores are kinda out of my way, but I'll get some when I'm near it. It did say Speedway but only gave 2 locations, so I wonder if it's only those 2 or all Speedways, as I do have some Speedways not far from me, I guess I can call them.

I certainly don't mind Camel Frost's at all. It's all my wife uses and I do sneak some every once in a while. The only thing I don't like about them is how the sweetness hangs around too long after using one and it changed the taste quite a bit of the next portion I put in.

Ok, I called my nearest that I know of Speedway, and aked if they had Eclipse, and they said yes, so I jumped in the car and got a pack of each kind, regular and menthol. They were $5.22 each. Oh well. I'm up to trying new things, though at my age I only do legal stuff now. I have a pris of Ettan in now, but I'll try one later, I think Menthol 1st. I have to hand it to Speedway, by the street they even had a large color banner for Tourney snus, which to me, is 100 times better than US Camel snus. It's not as good a regular Swedish snus we all know and love, but it's a real snus, and not a candy snus, so I give them that.

That's what I don't like . You stick your tongue into your lip, and you can taste sweetness long after the snus is gone.

i keep a can of camel mellow in the fridge. it's like a cigar on occasion, it's just a nice little treat every now and then. sometimes i'll do it after following a strong snus (like thunder), just as a dessert.

and i still go back to cigs on occasion. i have a box in my desk which has lasted me a few weeks. but on occasion i'll want one. and i don't consider it bad, just a little something i do from time to time that i probably shouldnt, like cussing or spitting or something. haha.

After reading this yesterday I opened my only remaining can of Camel Frost (I tossed 3 cans of it after finding Swedish snus), and popped one in.

Tasty. Then came the burn. I had it in for about 20 minutes, and about an hour later felt like my gums were tearing. The lining where lip meets gum felt like it was cut open, and still hurts today.

Something in that crap destroys my mouth. Swedish snus does nothing of the sort.
