    New Nicotine-Free Snus: KickUp

Tobacco free snus in portion bags. This product contains the natural substanse 'Bio X20' that gives you an extra power kick!

The can resembles the Skruf design. I'm sure that was purely coincidental... Anyway, just letting everyone know about it.

        Original article http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/1.5608662

        Google translate lol:

The debate has long break whether regular snus is carcinogenic, and the damage it can cause the user.

Read: - Snus increases the risk of cancer

        Read: Will cancer brand snus

Nikotinfri snus based on corn fiber has become an alternative for those who want to quit, but now switch dentists alarm, writes Expressen.

Overtannlege Bengt Olof Hansson at Odondtologiska Institutionen in Jönköping writes in the magazine Tandläkartidningen that he had a patient who had large tannskader after he switched from regular snus to the nicotine-free snus type Onico.

        - He had great kari damage in fortennene in the jaw. The damage was exactly where he used to put Snusen, and they occurred in the same period, "says Hansson to NRK.
        Severe drain on the teeth

The patient, a 62-year-old man, had no holes when he in the beginning of 2007, switched to snus nikotinfri. One year later, he had six holes in the teeth. (Picture)

Replaced by snus was the only change in the patient's lifestyle over the years, "says Hansson.

According to Hansson is the damage that Snusen contains corn-based drugs and fructose that is broken down to sugar in your mouth, and severe drain on the teeth.

        More cases

Similar reports now come from several other locations in Sweden, and snus manufacturer Swedish Match has said they will investigate.

        - We believe it is good that the dentists take hold of the issues, and we will help to find out what the problem is, "says medical advisor Freddie Lewin to Expressen.

If the problem only applies to brand Onico, Swedish Match will adjust the product, "says Lewin.
        - Unknown in Norway

Manager Morten Rolstad the Dental Association says he is not aware of similar conditions in our country.

        - It is interesting to look at this if it is found to have dental health problems, but experts must eventually look at what it contains. If it turns out to provide holes in the teeth is not that positive, "said Rolstad

So you show a pic of someone with terrible gums, but who IS this person? Is he a member here? Does anyone here have gums that look like that, that they ascribe to using snus? Any long time users from Sweden here that have a mouth like that? I know we all use snus here regularly, I know the smpost has many dippers, but I never see anyone with gums like that. Such may happen, but I think it's mainly antitobak propaganda, and this person probably has some bad gum disease, and maybe doesn't even use snus.

i think the damage to the teeth is from the non-tobacco product mentioned in the op tom, not real swedish snus.

Ah, well sugar and "corn fiber" would be way worse on your teeth and gums than snus would be.

Nicotine free snus is like sucking tit through a sweater- it just don’t get it done 8)
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I've yet to try any nicotine-free snus. Its like drinking non-alcoholic beer; whats the point?

Its a man in his 50s who has used nicotine free snus for 2 years - this is the result.

I first heard about snus by way of this tobacco-free stuff. It was weird. A co-worker I got to know after starting a new job told me about it and told me to go to northerner. Funny thing was, he had never actaully tried snus before, he had just been ordering the tobacco-free stuff in an attempt to quit dip. So I ordered some. I misunderstood his expalnation of it, and I actually thought it was a pouch full of various herbs, with straight nicotine added to it lol. That misunderstanding was broght to light ina hurry when I got my order and popped that first portion of Ettan... FWIW, after I got my order, my co-worker quit the nic-free and bummed snus off me at work for about 6 months then moved to DC. He is tobacco free now that he's away from me More snus for me.

They would be good for someone trying to quit snus, but missing the mouth feel. I got the Jakobsson's Classic, and Onico Pepparmint. They're both good, but not as good as real snus. I think I got them at the end of last summer, and they're still in my fridge. I guess that's the most telling opinion ;^)

After seeing the above picture, I think I may just chuck them. I really don't need tooth rot from a product I think is just /ok/.

Interesting - So tobacco free snus causes more damage in your mouth than real snus. And there was me thinking of it as a possible way to cut down on my tobacco comsuption :O Guess they'll have to rethink that one.
