Phantom Classic Loose now, over an hour. Well, it's not bad, but pretty bland to me. Has a sorta waxy soapy quality. Flavor is hard to pinpoint. Maybe some lemon. Kind of just blah to me. It's missing some bite. Are the portions any different?

You know, that waxy soapy thing may be what I get from the portions. It's a sort of artificial or "chemical" overtone. Still, I like them. The flavor comes on strong pretty quick, and I enjoy it pretty well, but that odd tang will keep them from being one of my very faves. I'll probably try them from time to time to see if that goes away.

I've gotten that impression from Thunder a few times, but the Thunder original portion in my mouth right now has been nothing but good. Not as good as the Gots green I had before dinner, though; that thing was awesome.

I also get a similar off taste from the Elixyr original portions I've tried. And I can't nail down the flavor of that at all; it's just kind of weird to me.

I want to try the Phantom loose now just to see. I want to try Level, too. Isn't it strange that someone will say "this snus is kind of blah" and someone else will say, "can't wait to try it". Maybe being weird is a prerequisite to liking snus. :wink:
