    sagedil and lös

So sage, maybe I missed it but it seems like it's been a while since you gave an update and your second chance at lös. What brand(s) are you finding to be the most tolerable? Have you had any revelations or positive experiences thus far with any particular varieties? Did you ever develop a taste for the Phantom Blue? I, for one, was not able to bridge that gap. I never reach for it. Curious to know how things are going... Which cans are currently in your rotation and what do you think?

Interesting, I think you have noticed a trend here. Honestly, in the last month, I just used less and less lös. Started out using multiple times a day, then it was down to one time a day, and for the past week, I really haven't used it at all. Have thought about it occasionally, but just kept reaching for my portions.

So I think the big answer, so far, is...well...I guess it's I really like portions far more than lös...LOL

But....I am still not done testing, I even made sure to bring it with me today and will have some soon. So far, I have used Phantom Blue, Grove, and Prima fint. I really, really like the Prima Fint. Just not enough to actually reach for it when I have the opportunity. Tomorrow, I am done with my current can of Oden's, and will bring my Thunder lös with me to work, and not bring any other strong portions. Am thinking that if the lös is the only strong I have, I might be tempted to use a bit more of it.

So...so far....I really haven't changed my opinion of lös at all. Not really bad, but just not as good as portions. But I have at least another 3 months I will continue to force myself to use lös. I promised I would do a long term test to see if I can develop the love that so many others speak of. I won't let folks down. But clearly, it has happened yet.

      my lös experiences update

      hey guys,

Since we're taking the time to consider longtime portion-users' opinions of lös, just thought I'd throw in my 2¢, or 2 krowns, as it were. I used portions way before I started using lös and love the convenience.

Some of the lössnuses taste better than the portions, but the opposite is also true. I like the Gen. Extra Sterk portions better than the lös, although the lös is good and hits hard w/ a load of taste/smoke/salt. Conversely, the GR lös is better than the portions.

Thanks to the tips given me by lxsklr (or however you spell his name!) I'm doing much better w/ my icetool, and it definitely is easier on the gums. Hell, at this point I could probably even snus it loose at work.

I'm waiting for my next order from Northerner (I'm a bit worried since I thought they weren't using Swiss Post anymore, but we'll see). I'm getting some Phantom, GR, Grov, and General (reg and ES) lös along with some old favorites (Claq Qui) and some new ones (Odens ES, Skruf Sterk Lös). Will report back on those once they get here.

Anyway, overall I'm on the fence. There's a time for everything, and if I'm just chillin' at home, I may well reach for the lös, but it depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm too lazy, then I'll just pop a portion. Anyway, I wanted to thank you guys for all the tips / help you've proffered. Keep on snusin'!

      One final note:
Visca el Barça i visca Catalunya!

      -B.

I'm just not really wanting the los, and that was the same thing I felt a year ago when I tried it. Folks keep saying give it time. But time, at least so far, hasn't clanged that for me. I just seem to really prefer portions in my mouth to los in my mouth.

But again, I will give it much more time. I am pleased to see as many folks try los as possible. I just know from so many reports, the majority of them will really come to like it. I wish I were one of them. Maybe in time.......

I've been going through something similar with sage, without his years of portion use of course but a strict portion user since I started....I keep trying and trying to like it but I just can't seem to see that much benefit from using it. I am withholding making a final judgment until I get my icetool. I figure if I get that and still don't like it after going through all my los cans then it's probably never going to get any better. Who knows...perhaps it's like the old cig argument of Menthol / Regular. Some people start smoking then they discover menthol smokes and never go back to regular flavored smokes again. I realize the analogy is kinda week but that's what it seems like.

I'm glad you are gettng an Icetool!!! It really is cool and makes the los much better. Better enough for me to like it??/ Not yet. But still better.

And even if you decide you don't like los, you supported the folks who run this site, so that is a good thing regardless. And worst thing, if you decide you NEVER gonna use los again, you have a real cool gift to give away one day when you find someone worthy that really needs it.

I am so glad you are doing this with me. We shall give it the best try we can. But my portion love is strong.

OMG, I just went back and looked. That was SO not a spat. You were frustrated a bit, and all i did was make sure I dialed down your frustrations a bit. But we were NEVER ugly with each other in any way. I was just playing elder, wise one to your "impatience" if you will. Trust me, I have had far too many spats lately. You will always know when I am in spat mode, and we never were!!!!
