Im pretty new and I pretty much hated goat rape. Im getting pretty low on supplies so I decided to give it a 3rd or 4th try and I get it now.

As sage and some others have said, my tastes change rapidly as I get used to all the snus. I can say that after I got used to the initial flavors I can start tasting things I couldnt taste before.

Like RL. When I first tried it, it tasted nothing like fruit at all but like ass and ammonia. Now it tastes like salted american butter with strawberries. Good as hell. And the gote rape tastes totally different too. In fact, I cant think of any particular brand I "hate".

I smoked a cigarette today and now I get it. The cigarette tasted horrible since I havent had one in days. I mean it was nasty. But if I smoked for a few days I wouldnt even taste that part. Same thing with snus.

You guys that are just starting stick with it, cause snus tastes so ****in great once you acclimate.

HK11, I'm so glad you are now really discovering what were trying to tell you about tastes. Whatever first impressions you have of any snus are often way off the mark once you have used it a few times. This is exaggerated when you are new to snus, but honestly, that will still happen with me with just about every new snus I try.

I don't get how so many say that after they tried snus, cigarettes have become disgusting. Doesn't make sense to me. It's like saying that you've tried an apple for the fist time, and now oranges have become gross. They're two totally different tobacco products! I love snus, but still really like cigarettes. I just don't use them as much since I found an enjoyable safer way to get nicotine.

I'm with you. I still love cigarettes. I think a lot of it's just a psychological trick to make quitting easier, which is cool. Cut off all ties to the past, and reject them. That way it's more out of mind.

I don't think cigarettes are disgusting, I still love the occasional one. But I know my tolerance for all the bad is way less than t once was. I smoke too many, and I feel dirty and gross. I guess being freed from "needing" a cigarettes to get my nicotine makes me see them in a clearer light?


But one occasionally is still sublime. I have never needed to justify my snus as somehow better than cigarettes. I just prefer the taste and nicotine delivery now, and am relieved I no longer have to put up with the after affects of cigarettes.

I fully quit smoking 3 weeks ago, and even second hand smoke really irritates me, it never used to..a cigarette looks absolutely horrid now.

I agree with you on that. The first cigarette was awful! But I enjoyed the buzz I got from it. It grew on me, and I started to love smoking. Snus is wonderful, but will make me think no less of smoking tobacco. If cigarettes weren't so horrible on the health, I'd probably smoke most of the time, and use snus here and there. Well, actually I'll have to think about that. I do really love snus. :wink:

I think a lot of that is from people who wanted to quit cigs. They probably didn't like the taste or smell very much before they quit and now that they can smell better since the smoke damage is gone it's even worse. I notice the smell of smoke more now, but I don't find it repulsive except in large quantities.
The people who chap my ass are the ones who quit smoking then become smoke nazis. More so if they use snus or snuff to quit.

I havent liked cigarettes in years, Im just badly addicted to em. Im not even really making an effort to quit them and Ive got some packs in the freezer. I was just referring to the different taste of cigarettes after you havent had one in a while. No doubt some people like it but it tastes bad to me.

I think the reason I havent been smoking them since I started the snus is because Im already at the nico threshold most of the time Also you cannot pay too much attention to what I post after 5pm. Last night I drank about 3/4 of a 5th of Jim Beam and woke up in the middle of the night with a gote rape in. Im pretty sure I spouted a lot of shit on all my forums

I'm still tasting salt, on Gote Rape, but I like it, I like their yellow los as my regular. I'm starting to get more tobacco flavor and less salt, but I used to dip copenhagen, and with dip there's so much more flavor because of the juice. I guess it will take time to acclimate.

On the cigarette issue, i can still smoke my homerolled halfzware shag and enjoy it (not while snusing though) - but my wife smokes Camels. She used to complain about how I tasted like chew when she kissed me. Lol, now SHE tastes like an ashtray. Luckily I love my little ashtray.

That was hard for me for the 7 months that my wife smoked while I quit. We have been together for almost 19 years and I am sure she puts up with annoying shit from me so thats the least I could do for her.

Luckily she quit too so it's all good now
