    snus taste testing

I got my sampler boxes this morning!

first impression of oden extra stark kanel.
only a hint of cinnamon... at least to my abused taste buds.
I'm definately seeing where the salt taste may take time to abate.

    Syringe is working rather well

also I'm a cinnamon freak, I often cut cinnamon sticks down to toothpick size.

it may take a couple days to get used to.

the onyx is similar to a very fresh can of cope

the catch eucalyptus tastes allmost exactly like those chocolate mints on hotel pillows, sans chocolate

elixyr power energy, unremarkable at best.

truthfully right now it's very hard to get past the salt, and the tobacco flavor is far more intense than I had suspected.

It's allmost like it was when I first started dipping, I hate to sound like a giant pansy, but I think I'll have to stick with portions.

the nic hit is pretty damn big though, not gonna lie, I was a chain smoker for several years, and after reading that sampling several snus' in a row may give you a nic buzz, they sure as hell weren't joking.

these make the camel snus taste like candy.

I still have a general wintergreen portion in, the strong wintergreen taste is all but gone.

I get a faint chocolate taste from the catch eucalyptus, I always kept that thought to myself. but after reading your impression, it probably is a ghost-taste because of a similar product I've had.

The Elixyr is NOT about taste. It is solely about what it does, how it makes you feel. As I have been saying for over a year, it tastes like a**. If you want what it can do for you, that's one thing. But this is not a snus we would use for taste purposes alone.

I was just talking about my experience.

I had no preconceived notion that it would taste like anything, I saw caffine and nicotine, I will detail my experience further if you like

being new to real snus I'm just writing my opinions on what I've tried so far.

taste matters otherwise we'd all be at farmers stores getting nicotine pouches, weighing it out gram by gram and mixing it in our drinks

same with caffine, I really enjoy darker roasts of coffee. they all deliver caffine. similarly I compare what I'm trying to tobacco I've had before.

I don't think stating "nothing remarkable" says anything other than hey, it's got a generic taste with no hints of any taste that's familiar or detectable by me. :P

I'm not trying to sound like a newbie upstart by this, I really hope I can find a snus that I would love to have in all day, and then find a few more.
the post is for my personal record as well, I have the mind of a steel trap!

I just like to make sure that Elyxr is moved out of the category of a traditional snus. I think that is why it gets so much in trouble. People taste it, think it tastes gross, and the come on here to trash it.

There is just no real good way to mask the taste of caffeine and taurine. So Elyxr is what it is, it is a role playing snus, one that will make you feel like a million bucks if that is what you are into.

          But it tastes like a**

Sagedil, is there a lös that's very mild?

I I don't like pouches, but as it is they are far milder than the lös I've tried.

Goteborgs Prima Fint should be pretty mild. It's very easy to bake, too.

Keep in mind the sensation of snus being over salted will disappear in time. I was a little surprised(and a little disappointed tbh) with my first taste of real Swedish snus. I had only had Camel, and I wasn't ready for the Swedish flavor profile. The salt was distracting, and the flavor wasn't as intense.

Obviously I grew to love it, and now Camel is just too much in the sweet dept(contrary to some, I do still like the Camel flavor, but it isn't what I want in a tobacco product). The subtleties in the snus will start to reveal themselves after awhile of using the Swedish, and the salt won't taste over done as it does to you now.
