    Maxi Portions

Has anybody tried maxi portions? How do they compare to large portions and loose icetool prillas?

I've only ever tried Grov maxi and it was a fat snus. Definitely a bigger kick than a regular portion but as conspicuous as loose so...why not just loose? 8)

I tried the Grov ones ages ago but can't really remember what they were like other than 'big' But recently I got a can of Granit maxi portions with a mixed roll from buysnus.com and I thought they were great.

Bigger than large portions obviously, approx the same as a well packed prismaster pris if you squeezed it a bit to make it longer and slightly thinner. And the snus itself is a good solid natural flavour.

As the Granit stuff is F&L's budget priced snus, it doesn't work out much different in price to normal Swedish Match portions so I'd say give it a go.

        No more MAXI

        If you guys didn't know....

The Grovsnus Maxi will be discontinued during this summer.
I heard it from the customer support on Northerner.com

        Cheers Mate...

I'll give them a go, just for the experience. Although what Zero said was true; why not just use loose I guess they could be useful if you were doing sport (which is highly unlikely in my case!)

I found them perfect for using in the pub - extra nicotine to keep up with the beer, but no hacking up soggy black gunk to alarm the lady folk.

I normally use skruf stark portions in the pub for that extra kick but maxi may be a good alternative

Same here. A maxi is basically as strong as a strong portion like skruf stark or strongcut or N&J - why not just use those. No doubly fat lip to freak out the lady folk 8)

Yes, I too can't see any use for the maxiportions. They seem to be an 'endangered species' anyway, with only 4 brands available at Northerner or 3 at Buysnus.

Strangely, I've found that Skruf Stark doesn't always agree with me. It can cause inflammation and nausea. Other times it's fine. Weird. I'll have to get round to trying N&J to see if it's any better.

About the Skruf ... I like it a lot, but I've also had some weird experiences with it ... more or less in the way you describe it, Dave***t. As a consequence I'm always really alert when using Skruf Stark - you know, really trying to feel what it feels like this time.

As I said: I like it a lot, but mostly because of the nicotine, as I find the taste to be one of the weakest on the market. N&J on the other hand has MUCH more character IMO and hits just as hard.

                        Maxi Portions

Not a huge fan of these I must say. I tried a can of General and personally like to the standard portions sizes.

Just got my order from buysnus. A log of Ettan whites, a can of N&J and Skruf stark. I have been using General Maxi's for a couple of weeks (I got a log from a friend who's been to Sweden recently)I think the N&J has about the same kick as the General maxi's, maybe a little more and they are smaller, so more in the can!!!!
I have tried the Granite maxi's and they are as nice as the General maxis and just as strong.
Go for the N&J's if you need strength and prefer portions.
Next order will be a log of N&J and a couple of cans of loose 8)

i enjoyed the taste of N&J but the 3 cans I had were very flaky in texture... almost like the bottom of the can when I first opened it. I prefer skruf stark because of the slight bergamont ish taste and the fact it usually bakes well, compared to NJ I have found.

Prising up an NJ reminded me of rolling a cigarette in the wind and rain, with the last crumbs from my baccy pouch :S haha

I didn't order any maxi portions in the end but got some n&j instead. They are great, nice taste, lovely kick but I agree with brendo20 they seem a bit dry even though they have ages on the exp date.
