    Tackling a Problem

The nicotine content of my portions during the day are less than that of my loose in the morning and at night (pinch > portion). So basically I'm having trouble during the day with my nicotine satisfaction and have been craving cigarettes more than in the past. I don't want to use more than one portion at a time, nor do I want to use smaller pinches of loose. So I've decided I'm going to attempt to come back to regular nic loose snus as opposed to the strong stuff. But I don't expect it to be easy to cut down on nic at night (har) when I'm loosing, which usually includes drinking, which was always good with cigarettes.

On the bright side, there'll be more variety to choose from than before.

What's a good step downward from Skruf Stark, maybe something between it and average nic-content loose? I tend to like the more straight-up tobacco flavors with a rough as opposed to fine cut, saltier as opposed to sweeter.

Gotland Gul is kind of between them, but it's not a straight tobacco flavor. Phantom comes off stronger to me than average snus even though the posted levels are the same. You could also try adding a bit of nasal snuff to the routine. It's not a hard hitting nic kick, but it may make up the difference between wanting a cig, and feeling good.

Thanks, man. I'll have to add a can of Phantom Classic to my next order. I tried the Gul again recently, actually, and thought it was great for the first few pinches, but had to give up on it again. Shame. I want to like Gotlands.

You gotta try Thunder. I promise the nic hit isn't overwhelming, but it is the most satisfying, most long lasting of any snus I have ever tried by a factor of 3 at least. I promise it will solve your problem.

Are you opposed to using higher nic portions? There are certainly a lot out there now (at least compared to a few months ago).
I have always enjoyed N&J, and have now added Claq Qui to standby snus. Not ready to add any others yet, but have used these mixed with regular portions to satisfy me through the roughest day.
Maybe just keep a tin of high nic portions for when the craving really hits?

you should try the escalator method. Start with a small(portion size) pinch of normal-strength in the morning(your body should be all out of nic, and it's loose, so it should be pretty effective), then normal portions, than as much as you please at night.

I know you said you don't want to pinch smaller amounts, and I understand that, but I'd give it an honest try as it will cut back your total consumption and hopefully keep your threshold low enough for a normal portion to work during the day.

sage - Thunder loose knocks my ass out, and even small pinches make me feel bad. They make me irritable and uncomfortable. The portions are nice, though, but I decided that I don't need that nic escalation.

Kerprodo - Thanks, man. My two daily portions are already N&J and Claq Qui. That's the problem. They're not working so well anymore.

deebo - That's a very good idea. I'll have to try that. Tomorrow!

I was talking about using the portions in the day when you are feeling a need for a stable nicotine hit. The way some of you los guys use, it would kind of scare me to use that high of a nocotine snus as los.

Using Thunder portions was part of what got me into this trouble. It made my previously strong portions not strong anymore. I'm going to stop chasing the nic and settle into a realistic regimen.

Interesting. In some ways, it has made some of the other strongs TOO strong for me now. I am not interested in a nicotine buzz. I love how slow Thunder works. But it hasn't changed how I react to other snus. I do a Thunder, I won't do another snus for several hours. Not using Thunder, i just do what I always do and chainsnus. I don't feel any difference in the amount of nicotine I have in my system, I just have to do more to maintain it.

I second the recommendation for Gotland's Gul or Jakobsson's.
