    Original less tobacco than white?

Maybe this has been discussed before, but this is something that just hit me yesterday. I prefer original portions, since I have to "prime" the white portions by drinking a bit of water and getting them wet before I can ever taste them.

However, both Original portions and White portions have the exact same weight (either 20g or 24g) and the exact same portion count. But the original portion contains more water than the dried white portions. Is this water content coming out of the tobacco weight? The weight of water can't be under-estimated. Anyone know any more about this?

I think it really has to do with the fact that Obama won the presidency here in the US.

There are just some things that are unexplainable!

Actually, I have never even thought of that. I think they do have the same moisture content they just don't have any of the magic sauce on the pouch.

I was checking out some reviews on northerner.com and they listed the white and normal portions as having the same amount of moisture for most of them.

I'll reference the Swedish Match site on this one, but white portions are not, in fact, any drier than originals. The difference lies in that originals are sprayed with the "snus juice", if you will, whereas the whites are not pre-moistened.

The tobacco inside is exactly the same, you're really just looking at whether the portion has been "primed" with juice or not, and when you think about it, the amount of moisture added with a spraying has got to be negligible.
