    Getting over spitting

I've found a tough time getting over the urge to spit when I snus. Regular portions mainly, and I haven't dared tried los yet (I'll stick with what works for now). Part of it is that I'm still used to spitting from dipping Copenhagen, the other is regular portions tend to produce more juice. Any thoughts on getting past this? White portions don't give me much issue, it's mainly the regular portions.

I suggest putting the portion in your upper lip, preferably front and center, dont lick it, moisten it, or mess with it at all.

That's all I can think of to minimize 'over-juicing'.

I'm no psychologist but I would say the spitting thing is just a habit that you picked up from your cope use. If you put your mind to it you can stop.

You might want to switch to white portions but then you sacrifice the quick nic hit and IMO comfort.

nah, White portions rule!!

Jordasche is correct about placement of snus to minimize juicing. I say spit for now. My guess is, with time, you will do it less and less. It seems that the ONLY people who have issues with spitting are folks that used to use American dip. I never did, and have never felt any need to spit. But you are not the fist to have that issue ShaulWolf.

I say don't stress it, spit if you ant to spit, and see here this takes you.

I'll definitely say part of it is from being used to cope. I just have a tough time when I get a sudden buildup of juice early on. That's where the toughest time is; after that I'm golden. The nic hit isn't too big a deal; I don't think I'm too addicted to the stuff. But I say that now while I have a steady supply, and the only time I was without was when I was sick. I'll try a different spot to start with and see if that minimallizes the initial juice buildup.

And definitely try a white portion if you haven't yet. I was using snus for over a year, when suddenly the whole juice thing suddenly got to me. Almost overnight, I was finding it hard to keep almost all of my old favorites in for very long. I made an almost wholesale switch over to whites then, and they still make up about 65 - 70% of my snus usage.

A few of my favorite whites are Retro and Lucky Strike.

I was spitting a lot when I smoked. That was one of the signs that I wasn't enjoying cigarettes anymore. Now with snus, I never spit...

I spit a bit at first. One thing is to get used to swallowing normally. That might sound weird, but when i was dipping, I'd go awhile without spitting and i'd have a big wad of sweet dip juice to spit out. You'll break that habit eventually, just takes a little time.

I used to spit when I smoked also, and ALWAYS spit when I dipped, and spit when I first starting snusing, but now I don't spit at all.
