General Pure Malt Scotch Whiskey 12 Years for sale on E-bay

General Pure Malt Scotch Whiskey 12 Years

This 12 years old whiskey is very rare and no longer for sale anywhere. It was produced on behalf of the tobacco company Swedish Match in Sweden and is branded with the General brand. General is a brand of Swedish snus which is the most popular snus in Sweden and is today available world wide from online stores like buysnus.com. The bottle contains 700 ml. and was for sale in Sweden for a short time during year 2000.

Will be shipped to the highest bidder by UPS worldwide express and require an adult signature. We cannot ship to PO Box or APO box addresses, you must provide a street address for UPS delivery.

This action is only for the people at the age of 18 or older, in some stats/countries you have to be even older. If you do not have the right age please do not bid on this.

Can you even sell alcohol on eBay? If all you have to do is just say "If you are not the right age, please don't bid", then I am sure there would be people making a killing selling liqueur to underage buyers.

Very interesting find, but I am not sure it is kosher with eBay, which would mean it will get shut down before it ends.

To anyone interested in this, if it is against the rules on eBay, it is possible to get around the closing of auctions by "asking the seller a question" and giving them your email address in case the auction gets closed. That way, you can bid, but if it disappears in the night, the seller can contact you to sell it.

If you are in the USA, though, this may be tough. I think the mailing of liqueur in the United States is considered an explosive substance and may get stopped by customers.

I didn't think it was legal, either....however, there seems to be quite a few people selling alcohol if you check out the related categories. Most are being sold as "collectibles"; that didn't work for tobacco stuff, I wonder how these guys are getting away with it? :?

          Cool auction, though. 8)

Very interesting although IMHO Ettan seems more reminiscent of a really nice peaty and earthy scotch. Actually Ettan and a dram of Oban Single Malt is a divine combination.

That is awesome! If I owned a bottle, I would never drink it. Something like that should only serve as a beautiful display piece.

I think the sellers knew they would. They simply put the auctions up to get people to send them "questions for the seller" messages with their contact info. To those who saw the auction, did you notice the seller name was "generalwhiskeybottle", or something like that, with no feedback and 0 transactions? I have been seeing this more and more often.

Back to the topic, I don't know know if I would drink it or not. I would be incredible curious as to what it tastes like, and I don't know if I could resist cracking it open for a sip. I figure I would probably do some research to see if it would keep long-term if it was just opened for a sip. ops:

The box and the bottle shape make me think that Glenfiddich made it for General.

                          Anybody know the details?
