    Nicest cans?

An entirely superficial question from a snus newbie: which cans are your favorites? Containers of snus, I mean.

Metal? Cardboard? Plastic? Round? Squared? Why?

With portions, do you use the rent snus compartment?

Are there any fancy containers for snus, like flasks are for liquor and cases are for cigarettes?

I like the metal or hard plastic normal round tins. The flimsy, falling apart plastic that some of the cheap ones come in annoy the heck out of me. I do use the compartments once in a while for portions, like when I need to get rid of one and there isn't a garbage can nearby.

I think the plastic are the best. Out of all cans I like the look of the skruf portion can. All the white and red gives it a classy/new age look (I know that is a bit dichotomous). Like sychodelix says, the waste compartment on top is very handy at times.

I prefer the SM cardboard for the snus but usually get plastic because I buy a lot of Gotlands. I get a lot of use of out of old metal tins, though. Diplomat, Lucky Strike, and 1847 are all good for a variety of containing purposes.

And if you're after fancy stuff :

There was a topic a while back that discussed which can was the best. A lot of people said Skruf cans are the best since it's supposedly waterproof. I think Skruf cans are very sturdy and seal most of the air from contaminating the tobacco. In my opinion, Lucky Strike cans look amazing, however, some claim the top of the can pops off unexpectedly because it's pressure sealed. I might buy a can of Lucky Strike just for the awesome retro-esque can. A little off topic, but LS should make an ekstra sterk variety!

Gotland has the best cans because when you reseal them, they're sealed just as well as when they were first packaged. No labels to line up, just quality packaging that is strong and sturdy. After that, I'd say anything plastic: Skruff, Offroad, Phantom, Granit, LD Loose, etc.

I dig both of the Lucky tins (white and original) i have never noticed my lid popping off. Besides the lucky i dig the pall mall and the Jakobssons.

I find that the jackobbssons ice fruit cans seal up very nice and tight in fact a place most of my to go portions in it gives them a nice fruity smell.

OH AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW ICE-FRUIT IS THE GOD OF DESERT SNUS. Really i find myself craving it in place of candy and mints. Can u say snus diet. Another plus that stuff works wonders on your breath my significant other hates the smell of tobacco but loves the smell of my breath when i have that stuff in.

Yeah, Jakobssons has a really nice tin as well.

And mercvrivs...I have to disagree about Offroad & Phantom. They are some of the flimsiest cans I've ever seen, and often they do not close correctly. Not to mention, I pretty much hate the taste except for Offroad icemint and cranberry occasionally.

For a real sturdy can: Lucky Strike

Based on looks: General Sterk and Extra Sterk

I'm a metal guy. 1847 can is great. Too bad the snus inside isn't. Lucky Strike is my favorite looking can. (Decent fresh snus inside). Plus it's a taller can, so it rests great in my left rear jeans pocket and reminds me and anyone who cares to look at my butt that I'm in the brotherhood. Downside: no storage space on the top.

But for whatever my currently open can of los is, it's the icetool los can. Simply awesome.

I like the 1847 cans as well. I am not sure about the plastic bottom for used portions. The metal, as all metal will, contracts too much causing an ill-fitting plastic bottom for refuse snus. I suppose this is not a problem if you are carrying it about at ambient temperature.

I do have to comment about the cans I like the least. The piece of crap swedish match cardboard container I am continually perturbed about. The lid is thin hard plastic that cracks all of the time and the cardboard allows for the extensive loss of moisture. I have to deal with it since I like many of the products sold by swedish match
