The first one I can not finish

I am working my way through most all of the looses to find my favorites and I just opened the Probe Wiskey. Blaaaaqqqqq! Is that how it is supposed to taste. Ehhh. Not good. The 9 on the back in 2009 looked a little like an 8. Can not be though. It came in the Swedish Match sample box with others that are not very old. As my step daughter used to say: "ick". I think I am going to have to deep six it. I am in Cologne, so this stuff is not cheap with the taxes, but even I can not finish this. In the round file it goes. So much for all Swedish Match tastes the same to me. :-)

Probe is quite sweet and is definitely alone in style in the swedish match lineup. I usually recommend it to people looking for a sweeter snus, but if you fancy peaty and salty it's certainly not the alley to be looking down.

First one I couldn't finish was Nick and Johnny East.

The only can I could't finish was LD Guld Lös, now discontinued.

Probe definitely needs some getting used to, I guess it took 3 weeks till my first can was finished, but when it was finished, I was a fan of the stuff.

It's a quality snus with a strange initial taste, but if you keep this snus for longer than a quarter of an hour, the taste becomes fantastic.

          Cheers!

i contacted buysnus about the "2008" on my can too, Emilie told me their whole batch of Probe lös was misprinted by the SM factory, I thought the same thing, sure as hell looks like "2008" to me, but my Probe was fresh, it seems to be a love or hate lös, and I löve it. Try adding a capful of vodka to it and letting it stew in the fridge, seems to moisten up even a fresh can better for easier hand baking.

I'm not a fan of probe either.

Heh, I knew it would be either Phantom or Probe before I even clicked on the thread. :P Those two are the only ones I have ever tossed, other than a tin of N&J that had sat in my fridge until well past the expiration date.

I got a can with my last mix, so I've given it another go, knowing more what to expect and it's not half bad really.

Yes, from all of the reviews Probe is a love/hate snus. I love it. It is my only roll of los snus that I have ever purchased. I like the sweeter flavor that it has. I am not a fan of the standard ho-hum snus that is out there. I think General and Grov are ho-hum, definitely not worth the price. Now Ettan, is worth every penny. Subtle, soft snus that hits the spot just like Probe does, although it is not subtle in flavor.

I actually just got a can of probe whiskey today as my "free mystery can" from getsnus.com. I have to say it is the only sweet snus that I like out of the ones I have tried so far. to each his own though, good thing there are plenty of flavors to choose from.

Can anyone describe what Probe actually tastes like? It's not whisky, that's for sure. More like some weird candy liqueur. I liked it for about half a can.

As far as other cans I haven't been able to get through, the Gotland's varieties have gotten tossed very quickly, even though my first pinch of Yellow was fascinating. I need to buy a can of Yellow loose again soon so I can re-experience that first taste then toss the rest of it.

Also, General Sterk I couldn't get through a can. BORING.

I'm sorry. Must've been yellow. It tasted like it was green, like freshly cut grass. Edited.

for some reason it tastes kind of like honey roasted peanuts to me.
