GROV svart (black)

tried grov black for the first time this order. it's alright, but it didn't live up to the hype most people seem to give it on here.

Yep, same here. One tin was enough for me. It does have a rather unique taste; It looks to be one of those love it or hate it type snus...

I'm an avid fan of Grov los but the svart is not my favorite. It is not bad but this is not something that I would buy by the roll. I do taste the vanilla that some do. The leatherieness (I know its not a word) that Grov los has is missing. The nic is there and hits well. This is only the second time I have tried a black portion. Oynx was my first black. Couldn't stand Oynx but I really like the black portions. They are like a hybrid of the white and original.

Overall I wound say this is a must try snus and an occasional buy but not an all-the-timer.

EDIT: It does taste a bit like rye bread :shock:

I finally received my order from 13 days ago (swedish-snus.com). Grovsnus Black is there, along with Ettan, General Onyx, General Sterk and Nick & Johnny Strong. I've only had the latter before, looking forward to trying the Grovsnus Black soon. Right now I'm enjoying the first portion of Onyx. *drool*

Ouch. That's why I shy away from buying rolls... It would probably take me 2 years to get through 9 tins of that stuff.

Starcadia, this is definitely one you mightl want to try in a couple of weeks. I have found I have liked it more and more as I return to it.

I've been working my way through my one can slowly over a couple weeks. I just leave it at my desk at work and have 1-2 portions a day.

I find it quite nice after lunch. I couldn't use it any more frequently as I wear on the taste after an hour or so.

This ine one of my top 5's right now. Although I'm a big fan of Grov in general, the black portions do not share as similar a taste profile with regular Grov as I expected. Nevertheless, I find myself keeping these in much longer than any other snus -- the flavor and texture have outstanding lasting power in my opinion, and the nic hit feels better to me than other strong portions. I'm surprised more people don't like it, but I guess I've felt that way about all Grov varieties.

My first impression didn't last. The stuff tasted terribly boring and overflavored after about 10 portions and the last portions almost became unpleasant. I don't regret to have tried it, though.

Why the hell is the leather-taste so unpronounced in this brand? A little bit of a sour leather-taste maybe could save this brand from getting boring.

However, one can was enough, also for me.

Odd, this is one snus that I don't really recall feeling very strongly about, yet I've just placed a couple orders to restock and retry a few brands I haven't ordered since my first couple orders, just to see if changing palette may lead me to love someting I first found to be kinda blah and it didn't even cross my mind to throw a can in there?
Even now I can't think of any reason to retry this one, Grovsnus regular portion yes, I have a can on the way, but black?, just really seemed to not be distinctive in any way for me.
