Can Someone Educate Me On Dip/Snuff/Chew?

I smoked years ago, and moved over to snus, so I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to dip/snuff/chew.

I tried some of the Red Man long cot and natural, and it looked the same to me. The long cut seemed sweeter, but I' not sure what the difference between the 2 is.

Is "dip" interchangeable with "snuff?" What about "chew?"

Dip and moist snuff are the same "Dip" is a slang term. Chew is leaf tobac not shredded or cut up like dip.

Dip is also put between lip and gums and cew is used more in you cheeks

Ah, that sums it up. Thanks!

Anyone tried chew? It sounds interesting...but I'm not sure. I know Red Man makes some, but that's about it.

there are a ton of "chewing tobaccos" out there, Red Man, Beech Nut, Levi Garrett, etc. go to an online tobacco retailer (or your local gas station) and check out the selection. There are also two types of chew: leaf and plug. Plug tends to be oilier and a bit more strong tasting. Leaf is a bit sweeter and lighter. A word of warning, though, don't swallow that juice! It's nasty, harsh stuff.

I've had chew before, Levi Straus brand. It's not really my thing, I mean a) you had to spit - a lot, and b)you ended up with bits of tobacco all over your mouth.

Another thing that kinda put me off a lil is it's soaked in honey or/and molasses, which detracts from the taste of the tobacco quite a lot.

However, I guess it's something you gotta try to see if you like One mans trash is another's treasure as the saying goes

          Peace.

Chew you stick a "wad" in your cheek and then take a bit of it and "chew" it. Chewing isn't like chewing a steak though. The technique is just putting some pressure on a part of the "wad" with your back teeth to release the juices. (you don't want to chew it up into small bits) Do this every now and again when the flavor or moisture drops off. Be in a place where you can spit when you do this though!

Stuff's real bad for your teeth too with all the added sugar.

RedMan chew is good stuff - get ready to spit, a lot.

Never swallow as noted by another. Burns at first, like all oral tobacco, then you get used to it.

The plugs are a bit messy too, much smaller bits to make a mess in your mouth. Try the bags.

Keep it in a ziplock bag - stays good for a while (maybe all the sugar in it preserves it).

                  Chew is extremely messy

                  and quite good

as an outdoorsman and a smoker, I sometimes chew while fishing or hunting, or any other outdoor activity where I can spit frequently and can't hold a cigarette.

I used dip and chew for 5 years. It's all evil and disgusting.

Disgusting it is, but nothing beats the nic hit of a nice greasy chunk of plug! The ladies find it sexy too. :P

I love American Dip, i.e. Copenhagen.

Although it is severly bad for the gums, i still enjoy it

its only bad for the gums if you can't leave the dip alone and grind the shit out of your gums with the dip. Been dipping since i been smoking (12 years on and off) and my gums are great.

also chew can come in a "rope" form. Bit a chunk off and chew a bit and enjoy.

I bought a pouch of Red Man chew yesterday. I was curious about it. I like it, but the amount of juice is ridiculous. It is good though

I like Levi Garrett better for chew. I only get it once per year or so, but it's nice for a change.
