Didn't mention before, but despite thinking that I would be able to finish all of my Jakobsson's Melon Mini Portions (a roll), I couldn't even finish the first can. It has a thick drip that when combined with the juicy fruit taste, gtossed me out. I think that is what pushed me to want to try something that wasn't sweetened again. Silver lining in the clouds perhaps?
I agree, Jacobson melon strong, has a great flavor.
Sadly it's to much at times, to sweet and I quickly switch to a Tobacco flavor or mint.
Pretty neat, but I'm glad I don't have a dozen tins of it.
Order came in. I started with General Onyx. This is the best Snus I've had so far. I find it to be a more refined General White. The citrus and tobacco both taste cleaner and less bitterness and I feel like the portion material is more comfortable. This seems more most than White, which adds to the comfort, but I haven't noticed a drip. Very good!

Took the Onyx out and tried a 1 gram prilla of the Roda Lacket. Texture reminded me of pate and the taste was boring. Clean tobacco flavor but completely uninteresting to me.
Took out and had to rinse mouth to get the pasty tobacco residue off of my gums and put the Onyx portion back in.
I tried General Loose and General Mackymara Loose, and both were really hard for me to get a good prilla and both fell apart immediately when I tried to put them in. The texture is disgusting when that happens - especially when trying to spit them out.
I'm not ready to give up on the Roda Lacket just yet, as it bakes up much easier. Maybe it will grow on me.
I'm working on a General Mackymara OP at the moment. It is kind of interesting.
I also just noticed that I received General G.3 Slim Strong Portions instead of the Slim Original Portions that I ordered. I sent an email to the vendor to see what could be done.
The Offroad Licorice Loose baked up very well and tastes great. It seems a bit sweeter than the portions.
10-15 minutes in, it started breaking up and the flavor got way too intense for me. Same thing happened when I tried the Roda Lacket again. I don't think loose is for me.
I just picked up a can of Thunder Xtreme Red Strong (12mg/portion). I have the first one in right now. The taste is good, though I wish it was a tad sweeter. If I can tolerate the extra nicotine (I'm glad I'm sitting in my car at the moment), I could see this (hiccups just started) becoming part of my regular rotation. What other portion snuses are similar in flavor, with a bit more sweetness and a bit less nicotine and are available to the US?
Not exactly sure what happened, but General Onyx has become disgusting to me. It smells great, but the base tobacco flavor has been turning my stomach the past couple of days.
Struggling with General OP as well. Do not understand.
Ya know, I do this as well, with General original.
Ive thought it was the bergamont, but honestly, I believe it's the smokes flavoring that's added to the base tobacco, I like it ever now and then, but it gets terrible to me if I try to use it multiple times a day.
Thunder Xtreme red, is a good flavor, I also think it being a smigon sweeter would be nice, but it could be sickly sweet on accident, so I appreciate that it's available.
Offroad Liq+ OP: Maybe a hair sweeter than the white portion, flavor doesn't last too long, portion material just as rough or even rougher on my gums as their Liq+ WP.
Skruf Mynta Slim WP: Smelled really good! Unfortunately, this is bitter and not salty. Perhaps the lack of salt contributes to the bitterness. I ran into the same issue with their cranberry snus.
Offroad Frosted OP: Didn't smell nearly as nice as the Skruf Mynta but it tastes much better, possibly because it has the saltiness that the Skruf lacked. Portion material looks the same as the Liq+ OP but doesn't seem to be bothering my gums.
Offroad Original OP: Grooooossssss
Offroad Eucalyptus WP: Smells like Halls Cough Drops but the taste is much lighter than in the Frosted. I can taste smoke in the tobacco, but it is much much less assertive than the smokiness that I tasted in Ettan. There really isn't much flavor at all.
----------------------
I think the Offroad Frosted OP was the best Snus that I've ordered online so far. I need to give it some more time to determine if it is something that I might use to replace General Mint. I kind of doubt it but we'll see.
-----------------------
Anyone know why General quit making a Licorice Snus? Their tobacco is good and it seems like licorice is a popular flavor.
--------------
Also, how do Offroad's mini portions compare to their regular sized portions? Different portion material? I might order some of their Frosted and their Apple in a mini portion next time. Might finally get around to trying General Mini Mint too.
---------------
Lastly, I'm still waiting for my G.3 Original Long Portion. The first time they sent strong and then sent replacement that also turned out to be a strong. They said they're just be an error in shipping and will be sending again.
This Offroad Frosted is pretty good, though the flavor is short lived compared to General. I enjoy General Mint when having coffee with cream but sometimes the artificial sweetener in it is too much. I like the unsweetened nature of Frosted and suppose that most mint snuses are also unsweetened? I would like to try some others in the 5-8mg per portion range that are also unsweetened, but perhaps with better quality than Offroad can offer.
I think I like unsweetened mint more than sweetened, however now that I'm missing the sweetness, the mint is now less complex. I would like to see another flavor added. I have read that there are some that also have vanilla with the mint. Unsure what brands do that. Other combos welcome.
------
I see that vanilla is listed in the flavor profile of Lab 22 Mint. But it also has sweetener. How sweet is it compared to General Mint?
It's here! Catch Collection Fresh//Peppermint. The 2nd in a line of 4 products by Swedish Match for 2009! The first release was Catch Collection Chill//Mint...
So I am going to try out Monkey's recommendation and organize the snus I have tried based upon the taste category so to speak and in preference order...
