I have been out of the game for awhile. I would like some opinions on snus flavors.

    Hello,

I have been out of the snus game for quite some time. I can not remember the last time I posted on this site (neither can this site). I would be interested to see if any of my fellow poster are even still here anymore and see if anyone remembers me. I used to post everyday for several years. First, why has it been so long? I stopped using snus after I had a blood clot go to my heart about seven years ago, which, thankfully, did very little damage but made me very sensitive to caffeine and nicotine. Tobacco had nothing to do with it. I quit nicotine and alcohol for quite some time. When I started drinking again with more moderation I started using domestic U.S. tobacco. I always thought that tobacco use would only be on the weekends. My wife hates it for the obvious reasons. I also stopped buying Swedish snus because of the prohibitive cost of shipping. Used to have it sent via post but they stopped that, making it cost prohibitive to ship. So, here I am using domestic tobacco and enjoying it but the hit from it is excessive, spitting is a necessity, and I can not keep it in long because it is really not enjoyable. About a few weeks ago I came across a tobacco store on the way going to my friend in Indiana, they had General snus portions on sale! I have not seen these ever where I live! I purchased them all for $2.25 a can. Some were out of date, but most were not. The out of date ones do not concern me, because I would keep snus in the freezer a long time beyond expiration. I got General portions white, wintergreen, and mint. It took them about 20 minutes to unlock the tiny fridge, eventually having to break it open. They promised that they would re-order all flavors. The sale continues until June 30. There are many available flavors, but I tend to use them when I drink and think that the white portion is the best flavor for such use, though I am not limiting myself to that. I plan on trying all the flavors, but which ones should I favor? The available flavors are: Original, White Portion, mint, wintergreen, nordic mint and Classic Blend. I loved Ettan los, and would like to have something that is much like Ettan. As I stated I have tried white portion, wintergreen, and mint. All are great but my preference from what you have read should be...? Thanks in advance.

On a related note, are there any other snus companies that are selling in the U.S.? I completely hate the domestic snus. Camel continues to suck. Nicotine level is almost not even detectable. The best was Marlboro, but have not seen that in a while. I don't even care because they only had 10 portions in each can.

I like Grovsnus, Ettan, Tre Ankares and Roda Lacket. I think Roda is my favorite.

longtimenoseemate. glad to see you back
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Slydel....man talk about a blast from the past.........good to see ya mate! ......back in the day I was just getting my feet wet here when you were in full form.....so I am not sure if you will remember me......but I certainly remember you

As far as which version of General you should prefer......I would say it is the one you find yourself reaching for (or wishing you had reached for) the most.........for me it would be regular portions or the white......but that is just me

For a while Jacobson was trying to make inroads into the USA through pipe shops. You might check the closest one to you and ask them what they can order.........or you might wait for a sale or a free shipping offer and do a bulk online order.

Anyway, it is really good to see you back in the house........keep us posted on what you find available.....and most of all.....I am really glad the medical issue was not anymore serious than it turned out to be (not that it was not serious......but from what you described......it could have been much worse) Glad you are ok mate

Just thought of it.....Mr Snuff has a pretty limited lineup of snus.......but the shipping is not nearly as bad as some other sites. You might check him out as well

Hello Slydel, it's good to hear from you. I've seen your avatar many times when looking through the archives.

If you do decide that you like the General brand you can find many locations by looking at the General locator. Just put your zip code in and push the button. It's a good idea to call first before you make the drive.

Thanks to you all. I really like the search by Trebli. That should make things easier for me in the future. I will probably remain a small purchaser of snus locally. I will miss some of my favorites like Goteborgs rape #2 (do they make it anymore?), Ettan, Retro (no longer with us), Knox (used to get it for $1.98 a can in los form), and Probe (do they make this anymore?). I hope that General Classic will taste like Retro, still my favorite snus to date.

You might try going to a Tinder Box store. The one at Easton in Columbus, Ohio, carries Jakobsson wintergreen and mint.
