I GIVE UP! The General wins

This month is my 1 year anniversary of snusing. It's been magical but I have to say....General portions really are the best all around. I didn't want to admit it! I wanted to think out of all these cool exotic brands and cans somewhere, a finer snus could be found! Sadly this is not the case.

Let me list why the General won't let you down.

    1) You can buy them on American soil. They might be hard to find, expired, or the fridge might be unplugged, but chances are you can find a tin of General snus. You don't need to go place a giant order online totaling $150 to make it worth it, or bite your nails waiting for snus sales to maximize your bargin. It's available, and it's the product we all love.

    2) They are regular strength. No ridiculous "Widow maker" gimmick snus, no outrageous levels of nicotine, it has what you need to kill the craving, and not make you an absolute slave to the drug.

    3) The snus offered here are full portions. Slim portions suck. I can hide a regular portion just fine and chances are so can you. I'll also mention that these are FULL 1g portions with 24 freaking portions in the can. Not 20 portions, not 10, not 13 or any other weird ass European standard these manufacturers come up with. 24 grams of tobacco with a solid portion size to match!

    4) The flavors are everything you need. The only thing we are missing is the pure taste of Ettan. That's it! The wintergreen is the best of any other brand, the mint burn from the Mint is perfect, the original and white taste like earl gray tea. It's a solid line up. All that's missing is a pure flavor like Ettan and more Los.

    5) You know the star formation makes you smile! Don't even lie -_-

I can't deny it. I'm done searching. Beautiful right? Like so many things in life what I was looking for was right under my nose. Trippy eh?

    Long live General snus

I could possibly live with the lössnus, but I've never seen it in person. I'm not a fan of General. It's ok, but it gets some off flavors as the tin ages. Now Ettan... If I could get that as lössnus over the counter, that would be good enough.

Most of what you say is all about you and your situation Polluted, so I'll disagree for the sake of fun.....

      1) I have been able to purchase otc in my area three or four times in a little over three years, snus is just not on the radar here in retail stores. My largest online purchase to date was $ 120 (60 tins), usually it's about $ 80. Once you have a few months stash of snus in the freezer you can watch for sales and stock up from the many many great flavors online at xlnt prices. In the long run, buying online is cheaper with variety.

      2) I usually use a split between 8-9mg and 11-15mg, more for the flavors than nicotine.....5-8 open tins in rotation....

      3) There are many flavors of snus with 24 one gram portions, and there are many with less and much less that I buy for the flavor.

      4) The only otc SM flavor I use is General op, I never buy the other "available" retail flavors.

      5) I don't care how they package the stuff, even the Skruf/Knox cow paddy is OK......

      Beautiful, maybe ...trippy, yes........

I could live with General Los ES, Grov, or Mustang (I think- not enough time with this last one to know for sure). Anyway......I think General regular portions are better than the regular los.....I have always been underwhelmed by the regular los
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I love the General portfolio as a whole...some are better than others. But I don't think I could ever just have 1 snus forever. Maybe I just haven't found that 1 yet. Although General Kardus 2014 was exceptional, and exceptionally different than anything that's mainstream. I guess I just like a variety of different flavors, depending on the day...or the hour for that matter.

This, General ES is my all day, everyday snus with some grov thrown in for good measure. I would still need Röda though.

I agree, Burnsey, and I wish I could get General OP over the counter. It's OK. All that I can get here is white portions and mints (and I can't stomach any of their mints). I have a stack of General coupons, but there's too many other brands that I like more. Snus isn't like cigarettes to me, where I could use one brand 24/7, anyway.

Glad someone said it, I was so disappointed when I tried the regular Los for the first time

I'm glad General has this limited selection available in the US but on occasion I've driven through three small towns from store to store until I finally found a fridge that wasn't empty. Since I find it for around $2.00 a tin and always have $1.00 off coupons it's a cheap way to "get by" until I have the cash for a big order. All I find here is original, mint and wintergreen. The winter green smells and tastes great but it eats my lip and gum like dip did when I was a kid. The original is, well, traditional. The bergamot profile in it is not my favorite. Then the mint. It's one of my top 10 snus products but it gets bland and boring quickly. I did get some nordic mint at a tobacco shop in New Orleans some months ago. It was way too sweet. Candy sweet. yuck.

I'll go as far as to say that Swedish Match is what it is because of their attention to quality and the products reflect this. I consume more SM products than any other brand but I would not single out General as the be all. I do dig the star pattern like a sucker though!
I could live with just Ettan, General Onyx, a couple of Thunder products, Kronan, LD and Islay Whiskey but my mouth would be a bit bored with just US available General.
