Bah, as long as your orders are coming via Sweedish Post Office or any foreign post office we won't have any problems. I'd be more concerned about your Visa or MC bank going belly up and losing the ability to pay for it electronically than I would be about getting it in the mail.

That said, I'm really excited right now! After trying all the General and a Catch Dry bought locally, I finally pulled the trigger on my first buysnus order. Check it out:

    CatchDry Cassis Menthol 1 pack
CatchDry White Eucalyptus Portion 1 pack
Elixyr Power Energy portion 1 pack
    General ONYX Portion 1 pack
Göteborgs Rapé Mini White Portion 1 pack
    Jakobssons Ice-Fruit Snus 1 pack
    LD Mini Portion 1 pack
Lucky Strike White Mini Portion 1 pack
Mocca Mint Mini Portion 1 pack
    Mocca Pomegranate 1 pack
Nick and Johnny Portion 1 pack
Offroad - American Wintergreen Portion 1 pack
Offroad Limited - Coffee Vanilla Portion 1 pack
Offroad Limited - Icemint Portion 1 pack

All of this for less than $50 including shipping!! =)

I honestly doubt itll be a problem.

Look at swedishsnus.com they have a disclaimer they cant send orders to 3 or 4 states but people from those states still get snus from that very same website regualrly.

      Just a bunch of hoopla.

Just like when congress swendled the ban on online gaming act a couple of years ago making it illegal to transfer funds on those websites.

What happened. Not a damn thing. I can still play cards online and gamble online because there are loop-holes in the law. Didnt hurt the internet gaming industry none.

The American Government is pretty stupid to be honest.

Does swedish match make the camel and other snuses in the US? I have only gotten camel once in NC. Can't get it here in TN. Theres no snus in TN as far as I know. I don't mind dip or Oliver Twists though which we have plenty of.

          If you live near Chicago---

Next time I go to Bull & Bear in Naperville, Illinois. I will ask them to carry Nic & Johnny, Ettan, Goatesburg, and General Sterk.

I will try this report back.

And if anyone else lives in the Chicagoland Area, Please go there personally and request more Swedish Match and possibly Skruf brands as well. I'd be willing to even front them the money, they are a wonderful tobacco store and are VERY friendly there. I walk in and the guy goes to the snus fridge and says "what kind today?"

If I tell them I have snus friends who would also buy from them instead of online I bet they'd be more willing.

Also: you can always grind premium cigars and/or American Spirit rolling tobacco in a coffee grinder and make some VERY strong nasal snuff, much stronger than anything brand-name/commercially available.

WE WILL WIN because smokeless tobacco has more power to improve public health than anything. Keep your chin up guys!!!!!!!!!

Very interesting, it sucks but its still interesting. I'm not sure if I read all that right tho. The usps will refuse to ship tobacco entirely or will they ship to business'? Well if they won't ship tobacco at all then we are screwed, as long as the other shipping outfits refuse to ship it also. If they aren't allowed to ship to a residence then set up your snus buying accounts with a business name. There shouldn't be a problem then. Unless however, the physical address must be a business. In that case ya all need to find a business owner that will help you out. My tobacco store will order anything for me. Even if I express an interest in a product but still tell him to not bother ordering it for me, he will get it. Several times I have asked if he had a product, when he says no I say ok fine. The next time I go in he grabs me and shows that he got it in for me. Nice guy but hes not helping with my tobacco addiction. lol.

Well, anyway, this surely will all work out in the end but we may have to be creative and find a way to get around this BS.

I have several boxes of genuine [no knock-offs here] cuban cigars left to get rid of if anyone wants them to smoke or make snus out of, lol. I'm moving and don't want to move them with us. If anyone is interested, PM me for more info. I'll take somewhat of a loss on them at this point. I have a great deal on a variety pack.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Be wary of buying snus, ciggs, dip, snuff or any tobacco product from a US based business.

Let me say it again. If you live in the USA, don't buy any tobacco products from a vendor/shipper in the USA. If they ship out of state, they must turn your (the buyer) info over to the Gov so the Gov can come collect their taxes from you. There has been lawsuit after lawsuit filed against internet tobacco sellers to get the records of how much and who got what.

If you want to buy online, buy from the established european outlets everyone here uses. That is safe choice #1. Choice #2 is buy online from a shipper/vendor who is in your same state and includes/collects and pays the state the tax from your sale. Choice #3 (not recommended) is to buy domestically from an out of state vendor. They will most definitely turn your info over to the gov for tax collection. You can't blame them. Blame the gov wanting to tax more and get more in to everyones business.

Am I just hallucinating the fact that it'll still be okay through the post office?
That's my preferred shipping method anyway, since UPS from Sweden costs half-a-leg.

You could make arrangements with these local businesspeople to order your stuff in for an agreed upon fee. This gets around the issue at hand.

The reason retailers around my area are not bringing snus on the shelves is due to lack of sales. Not enough people are interested for them to stock it, since it sits for long periods of time. But a customer who comes to them and wants to order a quantity at a time, for a set fee would be a no brainer for them.
That's why I blog about snus on my personal blog and put snus links on my cooperative knife blog. I've already converted about 5 guys I know to Swedish, after they quit smoking with Camel-Butt. I'm making it my mission to educate everyone I know who enjoys tobacco, as I believe snus is the safest option with the most variety. My fellow Seattle-ites would do well, along with myself to start requesting Swedish snus in their favorite stores.

everyone should start pro-snus blogs. Google accounts are free, and you can create as many blogs as you have time to maintain. Mr. Unloadingzone is a very clever man and a great blogging resource. Drop him, mor me a PM if you have any blogging questions, I'm new to it, but it's easy as pie.

Does it matter that I always ship Swedish Post?

I guess once it's in the hands of the USPS, then it becomes their responsibility to monitor what they're shipping???

Like everybody said, it's just another way to get in your pocket.
Speaking of which, my bank started getting me for an international charge when buying snus. WTF is that?

I guess the electrical signals and fiber optic light waves get tired on their way over and the surcharge is their per diem for a big mac in the middle of the Atlantic.

This is actually starting to worry me... Should I stock up as soon as possible on as much as possible? I feel like I got into this stuff too late! and i don't wanna be stuck with just the American stuff (not to mention it's not even available in my area yet)

It it all goes as advertised the senate recesses the end of this month until the end of the year.

Even if it doesn't and the bill get's a high priority, it'll take 30+ days before it goes to Bush to get signed, and it more than likely won't go into law until after the 1st of the year.

From what I've read on the law, it basically says that tobacco can't be sent to a residence - if that's the case then just have it sent to your office (or a friends office) - anything that's a business. I didn't read (but may have missed) that the business NEEDS to be a tobacco type establishment, so Mac's Tool and Die should be able to receive the package.

That being said, I don't think its a democrat or republican issue; it's a money issue. Both parties are just different sports teams in the same league, seving the same masters. When one is too discredited to represent the corporate intrests the other takes center stage. "Those who own the country should govern it" - John Jay (1st supream court justice). "Government should be so constituted as to protect the minority of the oppulent from the majority" - James Madison. We are rulled by men who are primarily concerned with proffiting from us and our consumption.
Sorry folks, I had to say it...
It's ALL about the money. First they tried to tax internet sales from overseas and that failed. So now they let you order it over the internet but it's a FELONY to deliver it to you.

SM makes 95% of all the snus in Sweden. They're the only ones big enough to have a US presence and they still have to jump through hoops at the state level: they only sell over the counter in what, 17 states?

Swedishsnus.com is owned and operated by SM SA, not US. Have no idea what that means to them.

What it means is BuySnus, Northerner and the rest are effectively out of bsiness in the US....it would cost them too much to comply with all the tax laws.

SM is here, but we'll only have their selection to choose from and how long before they're in all 50 states? And of course PM or RJRT could buy them with petty cash.....and suddenly the price goes up, the number of portions/size of the portions goes down, and the taste goes "American".

Big American Tobacco...Big Tax-Hungry Government...when they ban cigarettes in the next 5-7 years, they don't (and can't afford to) lose the tobacco tax revenue: On cigarettes alone, currently $19BB for the States, $7BB for the Feds, and don't forget the $250BB over 25 years the tobacco companies have to pay out because of the "settlement" with the Government.

American started with the Boston Tea Party: Taxation without Representation. It's ending with Taxation without Representation except for Big Business and itself. Tyranny of the Majority. Let's see them treat alcohol the same way and see what happens.....but they can't even touch cigars.

And all in the name of Homeland Security. America officially sucks now. (if you didn't realize that already). We're well on our way to becoming a fascist nation...but hey, at least the trains will run on time.

Sorry Mr. UZ, but you do have a few thing completely wrong in your post. Most of the substance is correct, and definatly should be noted and complained about. You miss the fact... and it is FACT that a true Republican is someone who taxes less, and makes the government smaller so they do NOT impede upon others. G W Bush screwed up for the republican party by completely dislodging from the true Republican roots. Think back to Ronald Reagan, now that is what america needs, and know we need. And the landslide elections that Reagan won are beyond what any candidate has or will ever accomplish. Unfortunatly the two Bush presidents that have been in recently are not sticking to the true meaning of government to republicans... 1) Lower taxes so that people who worked hard for the money keep it 2) Get only enough tax money to keep our military the biggest and best there is, for the protection of the people if it is needed. Bush has NOT kept with this phylosophy.

Now John McCain is NOT the same person Bush is, contrary to what Barack Osama wants you to believe. McCain has pissed off the current Republican party so many times because he challanges the bad decisions that the Republicans have made recently. That was the reason McCain was not even talked about before the primarys, because the repulicans did not want him to come in and make changes. But he came in like a pissed off bull on a mission to reform the Republican party and will do so.

Now you also made one other judgement in your last paragraph that is WAY wrong. The US government is seeming to shift away from a democracy but it is going futher away from Facism. It is threateneing to become a Socialist nation. Facism is not what people make of it. People liken it to Hitler, but certainly Hitler is dead and would not carry his policies into another country.

What you mean to say is that we are moving toward Socialism, which is just as bad as Facism. Think taxes that would suck up nearly half of your income. Redistibution of wealth that would leave almost everyone uncapable of persuing somthing greater that an simple, normal life. Personally I like the idea that I may be able to work hard enough and take enough initiative that I may be able to change my financial postition for the greater at any time I wish.

I am not saying the democrats dont care about America, they do and I know that. But liberals do not. Every liberal I have ever meet want somthing that another person has, either happiness, money, or the motivation to make thier lives better. Liberals dont ever want to take the initiative to change their own situation and simply want the governement to control everything, so that even though they are lazy, the government will give it to them. Be it money, healthcare, education, pension plans, etc. etc. And as you see those are all things that libs bitch about the most. And Mr. Obama happens to be the biggest liberal in all of politics at this time, this country is built on business and the people who have dreams of creating somthing and being somthing greater, not people who live on welfare, or people who think they deserve somthing just because they are american, or black, or white, or man, or woman. None of us DESERVE anything from our country, we are here because our parents created somthing for us. We have CHOICES, and what choices you make are very very likely to be what you BECOME AS AN AMERICAN. Obama himself rose from the depth of feeling he deserves the government to give him somthing.
While most repubilcans simply want thier money in their pockets and the govenment to stay out of thier way so that they may be unimpeded in thier pusuit of happiness.

The bullshit political crap that is going on right now is beyond what our country needs. Ever single one of us is to blame. We have allowed people to get into office that subscribe to lobyists with agendas, take money from large corporations and all of that bull. It started a long time ago with Jimmy Carter and is now carried on to these days where no candidate can simply state "no more bullshit, lets fix this country". And neither Osama or McCain is doing the 100% correct thing, but Osama is doing 0% right and McCain is doing about 50% correct. I will take the 50% over shooting my foot any day.

What we the people need to ask ourselves is how we get these people into our house and senate. How do they go in seeming to be the saviors and end up complete crap, doing exactly the same thing that their predicessor did. Now if you look at McCain and Palin for that matter. Neither has followed along the line of the crap polaticians with crooked agendas. Both of them came in as underdogs that challenged the status quo. And they are still challanging that today.

Barrack Osama wants nothing more than to turn this country socialist and has the same agenda as every other democrat that go into the house and senate two years ago, and did nothing, changed nothing, and keep taking money from taxpayers and getting donations from liberal corporations that fund the media also. Which the media is the biggest joke in this whole country. It is so biased that it changes its attitude acording to who it is interveiwing.

When is the last time the media questioned Obama on his factual and proven ties to a terrorist?

But yet they constantly attack Palin, and claim she is unquialified, when she is truely more quialified that Obama is. Presidents do NOT normally come from the senate. More of them come in as govenors of states because that actually know what leading or being the head of somthing is. And she is the only govenor in the whole election.

The decision is clear that the best choice for America and for our childrens future is McCain. But we will just have to see if the folks that want hand outs from higher taxes will prevail. It is scary to think that someone like Obama could get into power and threaten the sole identity of us being free americans.

This country is nothing but a haven for ****tards and special interest groups.

If Obama gets into office, The America that my Great Grandparents helped create will be completely lost.

I hope everyone knows how to pay in Pesos.

The people that live accross the hall from me sell crack, drive BMW's, and collect Section 8 housing as I go to work every day to pay for it.

I had a server in a restaurant that doesnt know me from a hole in the wall tell my father and I that we shouldnt go to Starbucks because they support pro choicers.

This country was founded upon the ideals of coming together and growing stronger as one. Now this country allows people to come in and do whatever the **** they want while using our tax dollars to do it.

A protest in city streets where illegals marched for their rights??!!

An illegal can walk into Bank of "America" and get financed for a home and get credit cards...

This country has turned into a ****ing joke. Dont get me wrong, I love America. That was ingrained in me by my great grandparents who walked through Ellis Island. But the America that I love is long gone.

One can only hope that someone like Mccain can turn things around, even if just a bit.

And forgive me for sounding like a stupid redneck, but it is the truth. If you don't aggree, you arent an American. I am not big on politics, nor am I versed enough in them to try to sound educated on the matter. All I know is that I'd rather slam my cock in a car door until it falls off than watch Obama get sworn in as my president.

                              /end rant
