    I wish I was 21 and a college student.
You never gave me that advice PP . Of course I was 18 and ripping through 2 cans of cope a day. Now I'm 21 and go through a little under a can of snus a day.
Nicadict you have nothing to worry about. You can get those same problems by chewing a new flavor/brand of gum, sucking on a lollipop for an long time, small burns from food, and a number of other things. If you think you can quit then do so. If you don't think you can handle the stress of quitting but still want to try to scale it back. If you are using higher level nic snuses scale it down to 8mg then 6mg with something like general silver (do they still make that?) Then those dry portions from northerner. I can't imagine going from 16mg down to 8 then 6 then 3 or whatever those northerner portions are could be too difficult and then from there its just sacraficing 3mg of nicotine however often you snus instead of a much larger amount. If you can't do that then maybe you just need to realize this is part of your life now. I accepted that a long time ago, I will never quit and I am ok with that. I know each little bump i get will go away and I will be fine, I continue to go to my dentist and each time he tells me how much better my mouth is since I quit using dip and he has no idea I use snus. And each time I put in another portion I know I took a huge leap putting in that first snus order toward prolonging my life while still being addicted to nicotine.

I'm kind of tired of being a college student. You know, always being stressed out, looking for jobs all the time. And since im studying in a really competitive field I need to have really good grades so I can have a good job. I think the high amount of stress I have is one of the reasons why I got addicted to tobacco.

Ok, didn't mean to come across as harsh just kind of a get a grip, relax, take a breath etc.. Seriously, my recommendation would be to try Northerner purified, your gums should not be irritated with this snus, get your nicotine, then when you are in a better frame of mind and less anxious quit using the Northerner, if you choose to do so but I don't think you are going to be as successful at quitting and may exacerbate your issues if you go cold turkey in your current state of mind.

Let your gums heal up and if you can't stand the nic withdrawls get a patch or just quit cold turkey. If I was as worried as you I would just quit. I have zero issues and I have worked through gum issues numerous times. I was just like this snus is irritating my gums and switched to a snus that didn't. No biggie. Sounds like you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
yeah you are surely right, but theres always this doubt in my head you know. I'm an anxious man, quitting is what im gonna do. I made this post for insight information and maybe information for the next ones to have this issue and that are extremely anxious. I think you guys can help me stop by telling me tips. And having some kind of "support group" really helps when u wanna do or stop doing something.

Snus doesn't cause cancer so I wouldn't worry about it. A dentist friend of mine once told me that if you have sores in your mouth that are painful, its nothing bad to worry about, its if its not painful you need to worry, but even then, the chance of it being anything bad is so minute its never anything to get worked up about.

It sounds like you are having a reaction to the flavouring in the mint snus, I can get some irritation if I use a heavily flavoured snus, N&J Radical Red irritates my gums, but once they get used to it, its fine. WHy the sudden need to go minty if the regular general was fine? I'm not a big mint or wintergreen fan anyway precisley because they burn the hell out of my gums lol.

    First day summed up!:

I am happy I stopped. I hope everything will get back to normal soon.
For now I don't really see any physical withdrawal symptoms. I it will be the same tomorrow.
I'll call my dentist tomorrow and set up an appointment, I'll tell you what he tells me. He is young, so I hope he won't be close
minded about snus. (sorry for my bad english)

    Have a good night everybody!

Or you can not have it checked out and sweat it without ever knowing.

    I gotta sleep at night.

I only have the red patch now, I think it's only irritation, the stupid bumps are gone. I cannot go see an oral surgeon like this, I need to be referred (it's different in Canada)
I'll call my dentist today to set up a appointment and ask him what to do.

You could be allergic to something in it, the sweetener or the mint flavouring they use.
