Time to bump this old thread. I got some Makla Ifrikia from Belgium some time ago, and this stuff is deadly! Very strong, too strong for me actually and harsh for your gums. Only for hard men! And there's even stronger version, Makla Bentchicou Africaine, I think. North African people are really tough, what it comes to tobacco.

an estonian member here vision started snusing with thunder frosted and his first step into los was with makla. did handbaking and then hillbillying the next day lol

he said it was strong and had a burn to it. i hope some international members get a hold of it and are able to post it in an auction

From my understanding, Makla is exempt from the E.U. snus ban because its technically chewing tobacco, which is legal for sale in Europe. How do most people consume Makla? Do they put the tobacco in the lower or upper lip?

it is fine ground like snus and the people i know that use it use it the same as snus

I found some interesting data on Makla Ifrikia. The TSNA level is 1.0ppm; very comparable to Swedish snus. The nitrate level is relatively high at 15.2ppm. General snus' nitrate level is 1.45ppm. More interestingly, the pH level of Makla is 10.9! People aren't kidding when they claim this product is strong.

Upper lip, small amount at time. I asked a native of Belgium with North African background about this. Funny how salt and few food additives make snus so dangerous that it's still banned in Europe contrary all scientific evidence.

As far as I know, most people just use it like snus. Seems to be ground the same, so lower lip or cheek would sound very messy and difficult to control to me. I'm planning on trying them all out once I have a chance.

Spam infers to me, that they are promoting and trying to sell a certain item. This Makla though, is something I think many would like to try, but for the most of us, it's unavailable.

Yeah, I got it through a local dealer here, I must say it's very strong, 20minutes in (about 1gram pris) and I was almost ready to puke. You do NOT want to mess with this stuff.
