Oden's lid?

On the loose odens cans there is a catch lid. Why? I dont really see me putting a used prilla in there. And it takes away room for the snus. The can only comes with 40 g not 42 like most of them do. I dont like it

1. Was the snus cheaper than most.
2. Catch lid....does it really matter
3. . .. and most importantly, does the snus taste good?

I think it's just cheaper and easier to make all the lids the same. And I don't think that the lid is the reason that the tiny amount of 2g of snus is not being included.

When I started snusing all loose snus came in 50g tins and there was 24 in each tin of portions. But as the Swedish government has increased taxes on producing snus the industry has decided that it's better to keep prices about the same and reduce the amount in the cans. For loose it went to 45g then 42 and now 40g.

I know nobodys ripping me off and im completley satisfied with the product. Im not mad about it just saying i dont like the catch lid on my loose. Its anoying everytime i open a somewhat new can the snus falls out because its all pushed up the sides from the indention in the middle of the can from the catch lid.

I agree with you. It's not a big deal, but if I had a choice of catch lid or not, I'd take it without. I think it's point #1 Squeezy made. It's one less variable to deal with, so all the containers are the same.

On occasion I've put a bit of snuff in the catch lid on the Oden's loose tins to carry around with me along with the snus. It has to be coarser snuff though, the finer snuffs leak through. I even made a snuff holder out of empty Oden's tins that fits into the drink holder of my car. The hinged lid is perfect for it.

As for the amount of loose in cans: I've noticed that some are now putting only 37g in.

Yet the tin size stays the same. At least with Montecristo you see the odd size, and check how much is in it. Hard to do when everything is packed in a 50g tin...

The reason why it's 40gram it's because tax reasons in Sweden , why we have catch lid , well because we don't have other tins yet which are in the process , do we do new tins ?yes . when it will be available ? In may .

Thanks GN for the response. Very much appreciated. And voodoo, i have seen that but i dont think theres a good enough seal on the catch lid to keep snus fresh very long that way.

No the 2 g had nothing to do with it. just the catch lid takes up too much room in the can.
