i cant quote the ebay rule in usa but it's something like this..... to sell tobacco packages with tobacco inside the tobacco product has to be discontinued for some certain amount of time. Or the tobacco product packaging has to have been changed for some period of time. My memory is iffy on if there is a period of time or not, iow it may be the the product or its packaging just has to be discontinued.

We know how often Swedish Match changes its packaging. I have wondered if you bought a bunch of general right before they changed the package if you could ebay it for like $10 a can after the package changed.

Somebody is selling lot of "collectible" snus on Ebay right now.So far the bids are very low.For example - 16 cans of General mint has 25 USD starting bid,no takers and only 3 hours to go.During the weekend all the snus sellers on Ebay.de were kicked out.I was one of the victims.I was suprised, that according to email from ebay.de it is legal to sell tobacco product in auction as long as there is German duty stamp on the item

Agreed Dog. If you're going to do this, you have to state in the description that it's "being sold for collection value of the can, contents not for consumption or use." Or something like that. :-)

i bought two full, unopened bottle of W.E. Garrett's snuff from the 50's off eBay with no issues. One to open and one for show. The snuff was just as good as a new package, just a little weak on the Nicotine. :-)

No, they specifically prohibit tobacco sales. I have seen cigarettes and snus for sale on there though as "collectors items" or "not for use" hahaha

The question contains both the answer and the work around (loop hole) all in one.

    Well done
