That EU sucks. Denmark has worse leadership than we do in the USA. Personally, I think the EU acts like a dictator.

A choice is buying tobacco from Toque and making ones own snus? From nasal snuff? Sounds pretty nasty. Or does he sell raw tobacco?

Snus is really just nasal snuff and water. It's a little more complicated than that, but not by much. He sells plain flour, which would be my choice for snus.

I could see it now... we would be like the Chinese... only we would be buying 50 pound bags of snuff rather than rice

        Speaking of Chinese...

Man Nearly Died by Shipping Himself to Girlfriend (As a Romantic Gesture)
AsiaOne ^ A man from Chongqing in Southern China nearly suffocated to death after a romantic gesture to his girlfriend went wrong.
Mr Hu Seng had asked his friend to tape him into a box so he could ship himself via a courier service to his girlfriend, Li Wang.
However, the romantic gesture turned into a life-threatening event for Mr Hu when the courier company mixed up the address with another delivery.
The 30-minute wait turned into a three-hour ordeal for Mr Hu.
The material of the box was reportedly too thick for him to make any breathing holes while inside and he did not want to spoil the surprise by calling for attention.
When the box arrived at Li Wang's place, his friend was poised to record the event.
However, they found Mr Hu unconscious and looking pale upon opening the package.
Subsequently, paramedics were called over to her apartment to revive him.
He admitted, "I didn't realise it would take so long."
The courier company said they would not have accepted this delivery if they had known there was a person inside.
The spokesperson said that even for animals, a special container would be used so they can breathe properly.

Hey guys, how likely is it that Sweden would just say, "You know what? Screw the EU, we are done." If EU sanctions told them they can no longer flavor snus? There are already states here in the US that forbid the sale of fruit flavored dips. I mean its hilarious that you can be an adult that enjoys flavored tobacco and the government thinks its stricly geared towards kids.

Im still angered by this after reading this earlier while I was in class.

On a positive note, maybe Gotlands would have no choice but to bring back their natural offerings......HURRAY!!!

Im joking, this whole situation going on with the EU just shows how ignorant and immoral the leaders there are.

I feared this would be coming.

They have been screaming for years about those evil smokers, who is poisoning the air for the little whiners calling themselves "victims". And now that a smokeless solution is at hand, they bloody ban it. EU-bastards!

And what did they not ban? The cigarettes that started this idiotic campaign! Bloody hypocrites!

I am not giving up my snus, even if this will make me a criminal. Normally I would consider myself to be a decent, law abeiting man, but I have had it. I don't give a damn about the EU and I will screw their laws. And you know what? It's going to make me feel good.

Excuse me while I derail this thread momentarily...

c'mon wa3zrm, you're just going to start inserting your news stories into constructive, otherwise-thoughtful threads? There's two examples of this just on the 10 most recent threads. This forum's not big enough for your Yahoo 'weird news' bites? Show some class! What you're doing is called spamming. I know you beat off to being our resident troll/spammer, but I for one would like you to keep it out of normal, thoughtful discussions about SNUS. Danke.

There are a ton of online petition sites on the web. Why not start there? We could also post a thread at snus central and gosmokeless.org asking people to sign it.

I suppose it'll make people feel better than doing nothing, but it won't accomplish anything. Tobacco users are too few to enact any change. If we had greater numbers, lets say they were oppressing beer drinkers, we could shut down whole countries. They don't care about facts, they don't care about honor, and they don't care about us. The only thing they understand is subways ceasing to be run, and garbage not getting picked up. Make those things happen, and you'll have snus at your door by the end of the month.

True but we have to play with cards we have been dealt and die with our boots on if need be.

I think it's 10,000 people needed to register interest in a cause for it to be raised in UK parliament. Would be too hard to achieve.

I wouldn't say tobacco users are that small a minority. Informed people are though. And anyone informed must realize that today it is tobacco, should they ever "eradicate that demon" they realize the next question is what is the next demon...
