From what I know, smokeless tobacco is only illegal to be sold within the EU, except Norway and Sweden and the non EU states Switzerland etc, all over the world its perfectly legal (correct me if I am worng).

I used to have a regular supply of fags sent from Spain with no customs issues and the US.

....and thinking about this further....they simply can't shut snus down. It'll simply move to another country that allows it. It can only be shut down if it becomes a criminal offence for me to purchase snus.

The EU has very effectively prohibited the import of cigarettes via mail (also for inner-EU shipments). They'll most likely go the same route with snus and according to some members in German snus-forums, who have connections to customs-officers, the associated legislation is already on it's way.

My next buy will be a book "Swedish for beginners". Some knowledge of the Swedish language would certainly be useful on a purchase trip to Sweden.

Besides of that, I surely hope for best.

So basically until they address snus manufacturers directly and say that they cannot export outside of Sweden we're ok.

I take back what I said. If I switch to the US warehouse from my account and go to the 5 can Flatpack section you can order GN, Gotlands and Northerner snus from the US.

This is what Northerner itself announced a couple of days ago:
"All snus from V2 Tobacco will be available at the new warehouse. That is Thunder, Offroad, Phantom, SnusX, BaccOff, and Megapole. There is also a brand new product called DOS available.

We also know that some of you are worried that you will not be able to order snus like Jakobssons, Northerner and Odens anymore. You do not have to worry. We have arranged so that you can order those brand from our US warehouse. You will actually end up paying less for Odens, Jakobssons and the Northerner brands."

Did they change their mind or what?

No, no..Northerner can ship from the US and it does..... that some packages get stuck at the customs is another question altogether...... this is why I never ordered anything from the US warehouse as I don't believe it would get through anyway...

Doesn't GN have a snus factory in Russia? Just thinking along the lines of what Northerner are doing ref V2.
