Someone from norway shows a can of snus and everyone cries cancer and

"Little fiber glass shards cut up your lips so the tabacco reaches the blood stream."

Why is everyone so negative and so quick to cry cancer and judge when they dont know simple facts like - hey it doesnt have fibreglass in it???!!!

I stumbled across this before i found this forum couple of months back.

Although its mostly American Snuff.... i put a few snus brands for rating on there.

Of course morons got a hold of some of them and i believe one of them said the following, " This product is just one of the reasons Swedes should leave tobacco alone. This stuff is garbage."

That same person also said the same about Redman Snuff. But feel free to add your favs on there to be rated.

Now I've tried US Copenhagen and Skoal many times. They do ulcer my mouth bad to the point of hurting. It isn't "fiberglass" it is unrefined salt crystals that form in the tobacco due to the way US stuff is made. I'm not complaining about others using it - just I can't handle it.

Now, I don't put Snus even on the same level.

My mouth feels much better even if there is a salt taste in some. The taste is better. Nicotine is so strong that there is no need for additional "Delivery" by ulcerating or cutting or whatever. No spitting. Fairly clean in portions. Less "nitrostatines" due to the way it is made. Snus had me quit smoking which was killing me. No smoke smell on clothing or in my car.

Anti Tobacco nuts will miss something to bitch about when smoking is driven to extinction. Maybe they can join hands with Al Gore and find another cause to "coom by ya" to.

And another thing... Just because I quit smoking does not mean I'm going to become an "Anti Smoking Nazi" like some quitters become. Smoke and smokers never offended me when I didn't smoke. I might offer them an alternative but I'm not going to treat them as outcasts.

Exexpat, I don't think that the reason you get ulcers in your mouth from tobacco is because of the salt. Snus has a lot of salt in it too and it doesn't ulcerate my mouth like American 'saw my jaw off cuz this shit gave me cancer' snuff. I think what it is is the high level of irritating nitrosamines. That's the cause in my opnion I believe. For reference, any irritating thing can cause cancer if the irritation is continuos. There have been documented cases of Listerene mouthwash causing mouth cancer brought on by the burn of the alcohol. Blah blah and so forth. Right Zero? Zero knows. Is it just me or does Zero sound smart as hell. At first when I started reading these and came across Zeros thoughts, I would think to myself..."damn, this dudes a scientist". And then later I stumbled across another article from him saying how he works in a lab with lasers. I smiled and patted myself on the back and thought...."hahaha your not to bad either man, yourrr not toooo baddd either".

Actually US Tobaccos TSNAs arent that much higher than Snus.

Some US Snuff has the same levels of TSNAs as some snus.

Levels ive seen have snus at 2-4 with American Snuff from mid 2s with some higher.

The interesting point to that is (from what I have read), snus doesnt realy gain more TSNA as it ages, where American snuff continues to build up the older it gets.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
