I noticed my Grov Loose is in a cardboard container but my Gotlands is in Plastic. It would seem to me that Plastic is better because the Snus is likely to stay moist longer. Isn't plastic better? Or, if using Grov, should a person get an icetool can?
Cardboard vs. Plastic

It's a waxed/plastic coated/somthing cardboard, keeps the snus plenty moist, unless it's taking you two or more weeks to get through a can of los I wouldn't worry about it.. i don't.
Seems to me that only the Swedish Match produces loose snus come in the cardboard tins..... but I've not had any Ghallager-produced loose (gustavs, LD, etc...)

I think the general consensus is that snus in cardboard cans do dry out faster. I think its a tradition thing that they still use it. Like Copenhagen snuff. I got a can of fresh cope portions, and it is wax-lined cardboard can. I think it's kinda cool, but not practical.
Sidenote, anyone like copenhagen snuff?
After reading the post's after mine, I stand corrected. Sounds like its no problem at all.

I simply love the old-fashioned cardboard-"tins" and never had a problem with snus going dry or the can get broken. 90% of all lössnus (Swedish Match's market-share) is sold in cardboard-cans, so there's nothing to worry IMHO.
Cheers!

Somebody(Zero?) inquired about the cardboard awhile ago, and SM said they used cardboard due to tradition.Originally posted by warthogI heard los was in cardboard to stop it 'sweating' (higher moisture content so needs to 'breathe'???)
Anyone know if that's a common problem?

It could be to make most of the packaging biodegradable. I wish most of the lös I like was Swedish Match so I could create a bit less mess in the world.
Unfortunately my favouritel ös are Gotlands Gul and Skruf Stark but I'm just getting re-acquainted with Prima Fint which I love the nuttiness of.Squeezyjohn
Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

by MonkeyThis is not the original Skruf Stark Los, but it is pretty darn good.
This snus has a good grind and is not “pasty” like a Prima Fint....-
