Trying my first tin of Granit today. It kinda seems like a low rent version of General. Your thoughts please.

By all means, go for it. I dont expect anyone to buy (or not buy) anything based on my opinions (or anyone elses opinions). The greatest part about snus is that onr mans garbage is another man's treasure. As I type this, I have in a pris of Phantom Classic Los

Yeah, I agree with Xobe's point here.. tastes differ.
I found Granit to be very comparable to General noticeably cheaper... what really got to me is that the pouches seemed less 'full' somehow, kinda like they'd skimped.
In contrast to this, I find Knox an excellent 'poor mans general'. The taste is a bit of a deviation from Granit in as much as it doesn't have as much of a citrus note, it is easily as peppery as General and plenty of nice burn. If you're enjoying these types of snus, and looking for something a little cheaper but with an excellent quality... I highly recommend it.

I actually prefer Granit loose over General loose regardless of price. I found that they both share a similar flavor, but the Granit is more to my liking.
If we are talking portions, I love General portions so much I don't have a reason to try any other similarly flavored portions.

The citrus in granit does not taste as natural and as mellow to my palate when compared to general. This is just me.

I've had Granit white, original and loose, and I think white is the best. I suppose the only reason is because I don't usually like snus when it runs. And loose is just a hassle. I wouldn't call it a budget snus either, it's right in the middle.

I actually was just using a tin of Granit los the other day and I thought when I first tried it it was pretty good so I purchased two more tins with my last order. Well when I used it the other day I really didn't care for it. The flavor just was not the best this time. Maybe it had gone bad, I dont know for sure. I got another tin yet so I will find out with that I guess. It also would not stay together well in my mouth. I snus los a lot and never have problems keeping any snus together in my lip for hours. Only ones I sometimes have trouble with are Roda Lacket and Goteborg Prima Fint since they are so fine. Hopefully my next tin is better, but if not I think I will take Granit out of my regular rotation.

I'll add my vote to Granit lös, started working on a tin a few days ago, it is in rotation with Gotlands yellow and I have really enjoyed the flavor, it was actually a much "richer" tasting snus than I was expecting, surprisingly good. It will probably be a regular can or two to have around snus for me. Can't say about portions, never tried either type.

From Fiedler and Lundgren here we have Granit Strong Portion with a taste of pure tobacco and a hint of bergamot and pepper.
I find these original portions pleasantly moist and they sit comfortably under my lip. ...-
