    You've sold me!

BuySnus.com has a free shipping thing ending today. I' ve been getting rolls of the General White Portion and the Botegorgs Rape but I want to mix it up a little. So, I admit to being a little nervous, I'm going to get a roll of the 1847 and a roll of ???????

Was thinking of Skruf Cranberry but I'm really intruiged by the N&J East. I don't like that I'm getting 20gr of snus instead of 24gr, though. I'm going to keep reading the current reviews and see if anyone tried the East yet.

If not, I'll at least get a can and let you all know what I think.

Some people have not liked the East, I personally have liked it a lot. But it really seems to be a hit or miss proposition. Best bet would probably be to get a tin or two, check it out yourself before you order a roll.

I am a white fan. If you are not, you may be disappointed.

I tried the N&J East and ended up giving it away after only making it through 3 portions. It tasted strange to me, I don't know how to describe it other than an artificial coriander and pepper taste. Not only that but it juiced very early on and irritated my throat like no other snus I have tried. I think I'll be getting a couple of tins of the 1847 today and a roll of Jakobssons Classic. I love the Gotlandssnus yellow and from what I've heard this is similar but with an undertone of citrus.

I opened my can of 1847 today. It is an incredible snus! Now, what I'd like to see is this stuff come to the states as the Marlboro snus. If PM does not bring this stateside, it is proof that the article that stated that PM was intentionally marketing a sub-par product in the states is true. 1847 is top-notch in every way.

The tobacco is bold. The citrus is there, but subdued. The all around flavor is just an amazingly well-rounded taste. I will be ordering a roll.

Man, it seems like I finished my one can of 1847 in less than two minutes. Dang! Should have ordered more ... :x

Yeah. I have noticed that too. I only ordered one can initially. At 2 portions at a time... I almost shit myself when I saw how many I have burned in the past 24 hours of driving to Tampa and drinking (not at the same time  ). I brought my PM, 1/3 can of grov los and 1/3 can of OR cran los. I finished the lastr of my Blue on the drive down.

I may need to make a run to the cigar shop down the street and grab a can of general to make sure I dont run out of snus over the next few days. Poor planning on my part... most definately

LOL Xobeloot, 750 + posts and you are acting like a newbie :P

I overdo it when I travel, typically packing 1 1/2 tins per day of travel. That is MUCH more than I typically use. But the thought of being away from my snus stash gives me shivers, so I like to take as much with me as possible.

Looking forward to trying this. I placed an order with buysnus for the free shipping deal, and it includes one each of both varieties of Jakobssons as well as a tin of 1847.

To echo some of the other comments around here, I too am more interested in lös than in portions. I use portions purely for the convenience, so as long as I have my stash of N&J of of Mocca+, I'm covered. What I really enjoy trying out are different lös varieties. But I also agree that the future of Swedish snus growth is undoubtedly in portions, as the emerging markets of persecuted ex-smokers will prefer the neatness & convenience of the teabags.

The kind of person who would be attracted to these forums- well, we're probably bigger tobacco hounds than the average person. Many of us enjoy Icetools, hand baking prillas etc., but this is never going to become a mainstream activity, at least not in The States.

I got 1847 white portions. Just opened the can. It is sealed unlike the gottlands. Half or more of the price of this must go into the packaging. I love the can. The portions look small. I took one out and it seemed the snus in it was very dry because it was not stuck together but like a bag of loose dry tea. Very dry. I put it in my lip and I like the taste. Today I had a portion of Ettan White and this has way more taste than the Ettan. A lot tastier. I found the Ettan bland. I've only had the portion of 1847 in for a few minutes now and I do like it. I will definitely buy more of this snus. I am sick of buying snuses I don't like. I really want to find a few I like and stick with them. This is one that I will keep on my good list. Maybe my best list. So far I like 1847, Retro, Roda Lacket the best. As the 1847 is in my lip, it is getting even better. I am noticing it tastes a bit like gin. Maybe that is as a result of taking a sip of my espresso iced coffee, I don't know. The portion itself is very small, maybe because it is so lacking in moisture.

                        1847

When I started using Snus I first ordered Goteborgs Rape, but this 1847 is much better.

I hope then that this is not a temporary marketing trick of PM to try out in Sweden what they wanted in the US. They should keep this on the market, the taste is very good, original, non-chemical and the temparature in the tin is good.

                          Nummy

Mmmm. That's nice snus. Creamy bergamot without the bitterness that makes me cough. I like to patronize small producers, but PM has hit with a good formula here.

I don't see "rökarom" listed in the ingredients. If that means that they don't add smoke flavor, it's another big plus. It also doesn't contain glycerol (E422), which can be a problematic ingredient for us Middle Easterners and vegetarians -- although all manufacturers I contacted claim that their glycerol is derived from strictly vegetable sources.

                          Good work PM!
