GES vs. N&J strong vs. Jakobssons Strong

    Hey guys.

I made another order. I really love GES and N&J Strong but I have never tried Jakobssons so I threw in a few cans. Anyone know what the difference in taste is? Honestly I think I like the N&J better but the differences are so subtle they are incomprehensible.

So, what do you guys think between the three? Any favorites? If so, why?

Jaks classic strong is a fair amount sweeter than most sm products. It seems to settle somewhere between classic snus and overly sweetened american crap, where it is sweet, but not overdone like candy. It also doesn't have a peppery taste like your other options, just a very fresh citrus flavor that has a mild sweetness to it. I personally would take it over any sm product any day. Part of my hatred towards sm products has nothing to do with the products themselves to be honest, it is more towards the company, but I still think gotlands makes a better product than them, classic strong being no exception.

All three are top notch in my book.

No, really, all three of them are in my rotation and are great snuses.

If you like stronger snuses you should do yourself a favor and try some Odens Extreme. I prefer it in loose but the portion are great also.

All of your choices have great flavor and a great kick. GES has the Great citrus, the N&J has a great smokey flavor and Jaks is a great clean tobacco flavor.

Cool. I look forward to trying it. I ordered this stuff Wednesday and it's saying on buysnus.com it should be delivered today! Quick stuff!

Why do you hate SM? Maybe I've missed some news somewhere..

I never noticed citrus in GES, but I did notice a hell of a lotta citrus in General Onyx.

Oh, I also just opened a can of Skruf Tranbar.. Interesting... And, actually really good! But I couldn't use it 24/7... Best in the early morning or late at night before bed.

I quit smoking for 4 weeks (on the dot) with Swedish Snus a couple months ago. On the one month mark I got curious and wanted to try a cigarette. It tasted TERRIBLE and made me feel terrible, but for some reason I went out and bought a pack. hm.. Trying again this weekend!

Just personal preference really. Sm is a dominant market force, actually monopoly is a better word for it, that has no issues on screwing the little guys. I just feel they use really shitty tactics to try to keep the other makers from gaining any market share, makers which I feel make better products than them, and not to mention actually care about the people buying from them.

Grats on quitting smoking!! Swedish snus really works, I have been smoke free now for over 3 years, which I thought I would never be able to accomplish. I do however smoke the occasional cig, which does a fantastic job of reminding me why I choose snus ha! Really though I do enjoy smoking on occasion, it does taste bad but it is kindof relaxing. The important thing is that I can smoke a couple of cigarettes and not end up addicted to them again!!

Edit: Oh and I will echoe tim, odens extreme is fantastic and would definately recommend giving it a try!

I will try the Odens next order. My favorite los so far I think is either Skruf Stark or GES again.

Ettan is ok. I still have a can of Roda Lacket los I haven't tried yet too. I have hated every variation of Goteborgs Rape that I have tried so far..

Your tastes seem to mirror mine, at least a little, so I will suggest you try the Extreme loose.

Roda loose is frucking awesome too.... I like strong stuff so I just make my pinch a little bigger.

Yeah, two cans of Skruf Stark Los later and one can of Skruf Extra Stark Los, I had to make up my mind as to "did I like it?" I found the Skruf to taste a little more "synthetic" than the GES, but then again, I think it was just the strong nicotine content. After a couple cans I got used to it. My first pinch was sittin in a barber shop (The UPS delivery guy met me there to give me my package since it had to be signed). Talking with the barber as I was getting a haircut and wigging out from a Skruf xtra stark los prilla was wicked. I think, but I'm not sure, that I like the xtra stark better. The flavor actually seemed mellower.

I think, for uniqueness, the N&J strong is champion. The GES is definitely safe, tasty, all day snus. Although I could snus N&J 24/7 for eternity and love it forever :-D But GES was buy 7 get 10 at buysnus, so I went that route this order.

Thanks for the heads up on the Roda Los. I look forward to trying it. It's sitting in my fridge in a freezer bag unopened.

I am not a los user, but I will say that ettan los is MUCH better than the portions...might be worth a try as well, though it is one that your taste buds may need to adjust to a bit. If it is los that you are talking about, I think it would be a good idea to give it a little bit of time and try it again later. And I agree on the goteborgs. Even though I am currently boycotting all sm products, I have used them a lot in my time snusing lol. I personally don't care for skruf (but I do think they make a very good product), I just hate anything that has to do with roses. I think they smell horrible and rose oil is just not my thing, I did however enjoy tranbar on occasion (back when I could buy it in the US).

You could buy it in the US? Weird.. I've only ever seen the basic 4 General products, and even that is a two hour drive from me. I always see people get Lucky Strike, and all kinds of stuff in the US, and even word of buying other SM brands in the states in a B&M store, but I haven't ever seen anything like that. I've always wanted to try the Lucky Strike though. I can't find anywhere online to buy it though.

Sorry I didn't mean buy it in a B+M store. I just meant ordering it through northerner. Skruf never submitted their ingredients for FDA approval so technically nobody in the US is allowed to purchase their products. I've never had the desire to see if an overseas company can still ship to us, though I'm sure they can.
