Romania and UK are both in the EU, thus the same laws apply.

My point was that the reason the HMRC only states that it's illegal in the UK is because the document is only intended for a UK audience. They're only concerned with what comes in and out of the UK.

OK - that's 3 phone calls to HMRC - two answers the same and one haven't a clue answer.

I think we can safely say that Customs & Excise in Britain simply haven't an idea what day it is but it might be an idea to ring the above number to put this to bed.

I only asked them how much snus I could buy and they told me none. Precious rang up and asked them the same thing. We were very careful to tell them it was for personal useage. If they tell me that MY snus is illegal since January, and tie it in to the recent problems - yes I get a f***ing major tit on. I get a bigger tit on if Customs don't have a clue what they're telling me.

Moral of the story - FU*K CUSTOMS. Don't bother ringing them - you might as well ring up a fish and chip shop.

There is an old law that says no exit of snus is allowed from sweden to the EU. It just wasn't enforced until a finnish cancer organization said "STOP!" so they stopped.
