Interesting. That was one of my first thoughts that it was very similar to discreet if not discreet. I tasted juniper/citrus in the number 8 and it was super dry, light nic hit.

I am not a big fan of Gote Rape or Phantom blue so I will pass on ever ordering this one.

Let's see, what we "know":

1. Several people have told me that Discreet is going/went out of business
2. That would idle several quite expensive pieces of snus making equipment that an enterprising guy could pick up for pennies on the dollar...
3. Northerner has US facilities - which are, rumor has it, not full of snus
4. Northerner is still selling Discreet - might imply a buy-out of remaining stock (conveniently this snus is not dated) - this might point to a business relationship between the two
5. That portion above looks a LOT like a portion of discreet (especially in the sealing)
6. The bag looks like a mylar Discreet package and exactly like a Discreet "test" package...
7. Northerner is ok with furthering their snus involvement - i.e., Oomph becomes "Northerner"

Answers:

1. yes, Tom sold his business and machinery. To a US tobacco company, can't say who...but we have no involvement with them
2. It wasn't for pennies on the dollar though, lol

Speaking of which - when is "Ol' Number 8" going to be available for sale? That was a pretty tasty snus - kind of craving it.

I got sample number two with my order today. It is pretty decent. Number two tastes to me exactly like camel frost but without the added sweeteners, and it seems to have a better nic content. All in all if I ran out of snus and had to get a gas station offering and saw this next to camel I would definately pick this one, but I wouldn't order it. It seems like it would be a good introduction into the swedish snus world for someone who has never had any though.

Couldn't tell you Mykislt. The survey is done on the regular northerner website and not getsnus, which makes me think it isn't just an american thing, but I don't know. It is just a box I checked at checkout.

i got a similar sample. Its #20 and is says

It doesn't even look like snus. I more closely resembles a mid cut dip but drier. It really looks like someone dumped out some cigarettes into a small dip can and added a little water

I don't know what the hell this stuff is. There is almost no flavor. It smells like a slight amount of wintergreen though. I cant even feel the nic in it.

But...........I love free stuff and am still thankful regardless.
