I've heard good things about Blå and I should should be getting my first batch in a few days, I also haven't really ever had Lös snus, except one time about 5 months ago. Generally speaking, the taste between Lös and portion is quite different, I didn't like it at first but learnt to love it after a few more tries. (The Lös that I had, if I remember correctly, was Skruf Sterk.). I know There's a lot of range here for you to choose from which pretty much goes to show that odds are, no matter what you choose it will taste nice, just as long as you bake it right and it's not Grov Lös.

    Have fun.

Wow. This is the most dislike I have seen for Grov...ever. I like the flavor and the grind. The smoke does a real number on me though. I get wicked bad heartburn.

Try it...it may be your new favorite snus that we all talked you out of.

Grov has always been one of my favorites. I prefer Ettan now, but Grov is still pretty good.

I don't have to but I didn't have to spit when I was dipping either.

Ok, three days into my los experimentation. I actually did something most will find odd, I had a can of Ettan White & OP. Both had gotten dried out to hell and back and even after rehydrating them they still felt rather dry and just didn't float my boat. So I opened up all the portions and emptied out the snus into a can. I did save me a few OPs to try another time. I made me up a ghetto tool from a 3ml syringe as handbaking is still quite a chore, i kinda get it then it farks up. The snus itself seemed quite moist but I wanted to make sure it was a lil more moist so I added a lil bit of water and in the fridge it went for a few days.

Well the other night I pulled it out and and gave it a whirl. I have gotta say versus portioned snus, los gives you flavor almost instantly and the nicotine hit is very much on par depending on how much you use. I like sterks so I made my last few pris nicely sized. I have got to say I am falling in love with los, so much plan on getting a few different brands to try out. Most certain I will pick up some more Ettan, GES, Thunder Frosted and Phantom Brown as I have read great things about them...

For the most part I have been using Ettan los upperlip via my ghetto tool but for shits and grins I lower lipped a big ole pinch tonight before work and omg...Ettan is some damn good stuff.

Yeah los definitely adds a new aspect to snusing. I wasn't sure about it at first and thought I'd only use portions, now I only use portions when I'm at work or on the go, and almost do los all the time at home. Its nice to just throw a prilla in and relax around the house, enjoying it for hours. It definitely goes longer than portions as well, both in the prillas compared to portions and in the sense that you get more snus per can. You should definitely look into getting General Ekstra Sterk los, one of the best los out... so much so that you could safely order it by the roll. Nothing beats a nice prilla of GES los, especially after a nice meal.

I've also found Ettan to be good, and lately I've really been getting into thunder frosted. If you even remotely like frosted in any way you will love the los. The frosted seems to have a nice mellow nic hit as opposed to the portions I've had where it comes on pretty quick and strong. That's another great thing about los, you can use however much you want.

I am not a big fan of Grov either... just doesn't seem to do it for me. All the others you listed are quite delicious though.

I love Grov and Ettan. Have you tried the hill billy method? Beats the hell out of a baked pris in my opinion of course! The V2 tobacco is a lot more course cut then the Swedish match varieties. So when trying out the phantom brown don't go over board or you will have sore gums.

I started using the prismaster to bake los, then I would use it to get the shape and then fix the prilla to my liking, now I just do it all myself like a big boy! Loose definately has a more pronounced flavour than portion and now even baking the prilla is half the fun, except when the snus is a bit dry and when it looks like im finished and it breaks in half.

I still will buy portions for occasions when I dont have time, or it's not the place to bake a loose, and to show others what snus is like. I don't know why but people who dont know about snus generally don't seem to like the look of loose snus, or maybe I'm just not good at reading facial expressions. . . LIGHT BULB! I, Kstolen23, will mass produce easy access palm cards with emoticons displayed on them for people to use in day to day life. . . or when Facebook is not accessable. As well as producing tobacco plants for when the world ends for people who are stressed out. Yep, I'm gona be a busy beaver.

(I had to wright busy three times before I got it right. You know you have a lot of spare time when you have forgotten how to spell busy :P)

Make an elegant but manly old school calling card style palm cards that you can hand out to concerned individuals who might give you some dirty looks or have questions in general about snus. For inspiration try browsing the artofmanliness site, i believe they addressed calling cards several times along with some very nice designs.

As many others have stated Ettan is a must try. I do like Roda, however I'm not crazy about the fine grind, as it tends to turn to mud in my mouth pretty quickly. Hard for me to get away with at work.
