    Thunder Original Bites

I'm not going to complain too much because I got 2 rolls of Thunder Original at a very good price through the VIP membership offer... But this snus just treats me wrong. I am a die-hard Odens ES original fan, in both los and portions. I think Odens has the most pure tobacoo taste and kick-ass delivery of any snus out there. Some people, like Tom I know, find the two to be almost identical, but I have to disagree. Thunder Original portions are hard little nasty nuggets; the Frosted is so supple and tender on the gums, but I can't hang with spearmint when drinking coffee or adult beverages. So.... It's great with water. I like the new Jaks strong a lot, but I only ordered 1 roll so I'm trying to go easy on it and it's a bit flavorful for complex and tasty beers. What's a guy to do? I have not ordered post-PACT except the VIP deal, which I encourage you all to get after, but damn I just want some more Odens. Guess I'll have to pony up.

Does anyone else find Thunder Original portions to be too hard and dry? I remember when they first came out, Sage and Xobe were damn-near beating off to them, then I trashed them like I'm doing here and got my ass chewed. Lol. In any case, they still suck.

I've never had Thunder, but V2 portions can be uneven. Maybe adding some water will soften them up.

      I like them.

I know when V2 changed up their machine or production line a lot of their original portions became more dry.

Don't get me wrong, i like that. I hate to have an oozing snus. Drives me nuts.

Yeah I know you like them Chad, I noticed that on maybe the top 5 thread. I was a bit surprised. I know you used to love Frosted, why do you think the Frosted is so much softer and more moist and comfortable? If you know what I mean. My theory is that the spearmint oil changes the composition of the whole thing, but maybe you have some further insight? Thunder Original is just hard and rough to me, with unpleasant flavor additives. A hint of berg, I guess. Dude if you have a roll of Oden's ESP to swap, I'll give you 14 cans of Thunder Original, no joke. I'm starting to think I'll never have Odens again, that I'll quit before I drop well over 100 bucks on 1 roll with WA state taxes. It makes me sad.

I dig the minis of both original and frosted.

Im only on my first tin of the original so I am waiting to see if I find a crappy one in the roll I got. It does not seem dry to me but they are minis and the only other portions i snus on the regular are Gotlands/Jakobssons brands so comparatively the v2 material is like silk. So far, so good. Goes well with coffee and beer and pretty much anything. On the whole I have not yet had a bad tin from v2 (except the phantom blue which I am told is supposed to be like that...ewwwww.)

As for the frosted, I liked it a lot more last time I had them. They are nice and soft though. I like them with tea but can't do them with coffee or beer. Whiskey or rum isn't bad straight up with them either...mojito or mint julep without the work.

I would not try the full size ones because I'm not into extra sterks so I have no experience with them.

I don't know if that helped...

Yea I don't know about these. Im really not feeling them at all either the minis or the full size portions. Maybe when they start the new formula from the test series ill like them better. We'll see........

I like them, Prolly better than skruf es portions or GESP. I've only had odens portions once and it was awhile ago, but at the time thought they were too pillowy. Any ways I always pop the thunder oesp on my tongue and wet them a bit before shoving them into place with my tongue. So Glad they are available on the most awesome VIP program.....

I dig on Thunder ES. They're not a mainstay of mine but usually have some around. I'm working on a can of them now and well, they're eight months old so maybe I haven't had the new, drier version. Mine are still pretty moist but very compacted. This might have to do with my vacuum sealer pressing the cans down but I think this helps preserve the snus. When I open the can they're mostly pressed together and I have to peel them off one at a time. Then fluff. My only problem is that the portions seems to be too big for the amount of tobacco inside them. This of course gets forgotten about once the buggers are mashed up there, but every time I take one I think about it and how I wish they were fuller. I like them better than Odens though. I find them less bitter but Odens does have a nice delivery method as Roo put it.

I found Thunder Original minis to be a lot dryer than Thunder Frosted minis. Never tried full size, because the ES has too much nicotine for me.

Funny, originally I thought the thread title was "Original Thunder Bites", thought it was a new snus then I re-read it lol

I keep trying different Thunders but just don't like them. I grabbed some Thunder Berry Blend on my last VIP order and although I love berry I find I am not using it. I am hooked on the Jaks Classic Strong and Wintergreen. I will probably end up giving away the Thunder Berry Blend and just getting more Jaks.

+1. I thought they'd brought out something like the Oliver Twists

My last batch of Thunder OP, I thought were dryish and hard, and I didn't like it. But there were some cans of it I had in the past, where it was so great, I was saying it's my fave snus. It was so soft and dripping wet. And it really hit hard, at least then it did for me. When I had those wet cans, morning coffee with that was like wake and bake. But that last batch I got was not too hot, and a new can of Rothbrix white had 8 ripped portions in the can. V2 CAN make some great stuff, it seems it's only the portions that have issues, but maybe the QA needs some help.
