Maybe This Has Been Covered Already Tax and Lack of Skruf

Ive been out in the wildrness for , oh bout 6 months. i just got back tonight and hopped on Northerner.com and getsnus.com and im seeing

    no Skruf?!?!?!
    UPS $13 dollar delivery only.
    $13 in Tabaco Tax
for 5 cans ($20 woth of snus) is going to cost me 45 dollars??

i used to pay half that price for 6 cans of snus, what the hell have i missed in the past 6 months?? im guessing this have been covered already. sorry for asking, but man im really trippin on this, had to know ASAP and i will look through the forums later when i get all my bags unpacked from my trip.
BUTTTT i thought id just throw this out there for any bored person to share info or their anger, or maybe a good alternate site with SHIPPING FROM US just so i can get me some snus ASAP :P

Yeah, there has been a lot going on. I joined these forums in large part because the world of snus is in a state of— shall we say, flux, and I'm looking at various options for continuing to purchase snus as my very large freezer supply begins to run low... You might want to do a Google "advanced search" by domain, using "www.snuson.com/forum", and you'll find a lot of discussion; certainly too much to just answer in one thread. Good luck.

Northerner takes all taxes at checkout, and there's quite a few brands that wouldn't bend over for the FDA, so they can't be sold by a USA supplier. You can get Skruf from Buysnus. You'll get raped on shipping, but no taxes get taken out. You'll have to report those yourself. All tobacco from anywhere has to come UPS with signature verification on delivery. Small private shipments can go USPS, but AFAIK, no actual sellers will ship that way.

      Welcome back! :^) :^/

Don't buy from Northerner. Their prices are a rip off and then you get cans that are literally COMPLETELY covered with ugly warning stickers that it seems they put on there with Gorilla Glue. I was 100 points away from a free roll but at this point... screw Northerner. If it ever ends up that I can't order from BuySnus I'll just get General locally or from a online cigar shop.

I have purchased since PACT. I purchased 4 rolls of nearly expired Icefruit for 99 cents a can. They don't taste like Ice Fruit at all, more like regular snus with only a hint of the original flavor. It still cost me a lot to get the damn snus. So, I have been looking ever since at a way at buying snus without breaking the bank. I just bought a roll of Julesnus at snusbargain for about $40. It seems this will be my only way to go from here on out. I have tried the majority of snuses and I am not severally finicky. I just hope that getsnus and snusbargain offer super deals more often then they have. I think I read in an e-mail from getsnus that they will be offering great deals up to 3 times a month. We will see if that comes to fruition. I was put in the same boat as you, because I did not keep up on the whole PACT thing and missed out on purchasing a lot of great snus before it was enacted. That is what I got from not staying active in the snus community!

I too had to go searching around the net for a more appropriate retailer of snus following PACT. If Buysnus.com will ship to your location, I highly recommend them. They are now the one single retailer I have that doesn't apply exorbitant tobacco taxes to any of my orders over the past six months. I won't name names, but other retailers have tried to charge as much as 60% tobacco tax. That's over $2.00 extra PER can! Ordering one roll of General Onyx would've cost me around $90 USD. Ridiculous!

As with most/all retailers, they only ship to the US via UPS, which is expensive, but what can you do about that? I usually place orders for two rolls at a time, which lasts me around two months. For 20 cans, my orders typically round out to around $90 (or a little less if a snus I like is on promotion.)

Finally, I've yet to receive a can/roll from Buysnus that is decorated with health warnings.

If you aren't overly picky the snuson VIP is the way to go 5 rolls shipped and taxes paid for $125.00. Yeah you might have to "settle" for something other than your favorite but hey it's only $2.50 a can.....

45 dollars for five cans is less than the prices over here.
