While trying gote rape los today for the first time I came to a realization.. It seems like the los version allways taste better to me. Ettan, Roda, General etc.. It's just alot better. If it wasn't for the convenience I'd be using Los 100 percent of the time.

Yes i agree 100% thats why i rarley use portion snus there usaly a let down to me.

I agree. Naturally los will taste better. In los, nothing (portion) seperates you from the pure taste of the tobacco. In portions, there's a buffer. Very good observation sir!

The only portion that I like better than the los version is Ettan :-) But I still use the los... since I can't really stand portions...

I totally agree. The only portion that comes close to lös for me is the Gotland portions. They're sufficiently different, that the portion is just as good, but with a different flavor profile. All other portions are inferior. I have found that I prefer nonstandard flavors to be portions. Jakobssons IceFruit, and other mint snus I prefer as a portion. Not sure why. After wanting a mint lös forever, and getting Offroad Frosted lös, I found I prefer that flavor in a portion :^D

I prefer Los and I agree Los taste better. If they come out with a Los Jakobssons Classic or Jakobssons Mint I'll most likely snus myself to death though, because even though I'm not fond of portions these are orgasmic. Not somuchwithwintergreen!

Loose always tastes better. You'll never have a prima fint portion! Portions still have their place however.

A portion lasts me about 45-55 min where as los usually lasts an hour to an hour and 20 minutes before I need more nicotine. Can anyone explain this?

Løs tastes better, but as you say, it's not very convenient. When I'm in class or out walking, it's not very convenient.

I'd guess the lös releases the nicotine slower, and retains it longer since it sits in 1 place. Portions you can suck on, and expose to more saliva, so the nicotine is more thoroughly extracted faster.

Eric, I 100% agree.... The los version always taste better to me and some even completely different than there portion counterparts... For instance I didn't really like Roda Lacket portions and tried hard to, But the Los version is a world apart and like heaven... I didn't like Skruf portions at all yet the Skruf Strak Los and Skruf Extra Stark Los are 2 of my top favorites in Los and General Extra Stark Los just melts in your mouth...

The only one i like better in portions would be Ettan... Yet Ettan Kardus as your about to find out i think is better than regular ettan Los... This could be just in my mind though as i don't have both open to compare...

Los seems to have a milder and less salty flavor, since the pH of los snus is usually lower than portioned snus; los doesn't require a high pH because there is no barrier between the tobacco and membrane mucosa. As well, los snus is usually compacted, while the tobacco in portioned snus is grinded finer and separated; this results in a stronger, saltier flavor.
