LoL maybe others will chime in with "x brand is also similar in the same way probe is"Originally posted by GoVeganMore power to you man!
I figure with my experience maybe I can help somebody in the same boat I am in. I just happened to order probe along with the others based off of internet reviews. Glad I got that one

More power to you man!Originally posted by NewYorkProbe Whiskey! This is so far the ONLY snus I have tried that tastes even REMOTELY close to american snuff/dip/chew. A lot of people say Grov but trust me, that tastes NOTHING like american anything. It tastes a lot like every other snus. Don't get me wrong, I have began to like ettan and lab 01 and grov tastes similar but more herbal. Snus is snus. They have yet to make a snus that tastes like dip/chew. BUT Probe Whiskey tastes way way way way more like american dip/chew/snuff than ANY other snus out of about 15 brands I have tried.

Grov is a bit like Gellivare?Originally posted by Monkey View PostIf you haven't yet, try some gellavaire. It has a rich tobacco flavor and has a cut close to cope snuff. It doesn't taste like cope but it is really good. You are not going to get a direct replacement for dip with snus and as stared befo grov is the closest without chocolate but the gellivare is a worthy competitor.
If you do get it, wet your fingers before you grab a pinch. It can be messy.

Out off all that I've tried, which is a LOT IMO, I would say Probe Whiskey is the ONLY snus that will satisfy an american taste that is looking for a chew/dip taste. All others kind of taste the same as each other with hints of differences. But Probe has a totally different taste. Go with Probe Whiskey this stuff is great!
(I know this thread is old but I am posting for any new american snusers still looking for "that" taste. Probe comes closest.)

It's been a really long time since I tasted Cope, but Knox could be on the list to try too I think? I remember that being more of a straight-up tobacco kind of flavor.

I have never tried Copenhagen, but from what I've read I'd say Grov, Ettan, and Probe would be closest. Unfortunatley for you if you don't like any chocolate undertones that would only leave Grov IMO. But I can really only vouch for the loose versions and would highly recommend trying them in loose form.
Mostly though it seems hard to compare dip to snus directly for flavor. Good luck!

Looking for a snus that tastes similar to Copenhagen
I've been snusing for a while. I started off with most of the fruity snus and then tried to get into the pure tobacco category. What I found is this...nothing that I have tried even comes close to the flavor of Copenhagen and some of it tastes like chocolate which, I don't like one bit. I first switched to snus after being a long time Copenhagen dipper when I found out that it is less harmful to the gums, doesn't cause cancer, or contain sugar like Copenhagen which has caused me to have cavities, etc. I really, really, really want a snus similar to Copenhagen...the only thing remotely similar to it is Grov, which is less sweet, with a more earthy, "herbal" flavor which, I can stand because it's just as "salty" as Copenhagen. My next step will be trying Granit portions...and I want to know, does Granit taste similar to Copenhagen? or am I out of luck again? or would it better for me to just stick to my Grov?Tags: None

From Fiedler and Lundgren here we have Granit Strong Portion with a taste of pure tobacco and a hint of bergamot and pepper.
I find these original portions pleasantly moist and they sit comfortably under my lip. ...-
