Business is business. Justin made a good point about Northerner collecting domain names, but I honestly think they deliberately targeted snuscentral because that's good business. It's more aggressive than I would be, but I think it stops well short of nasty. Nasty would be DDOSing snuscentral's servers. As far as prices goes, Northerner's competitive, even if they aren't the cheapest. I have zero money for snus right now, but assuming I had a tiny bit of money, I'd use the cheapest service, which would likely be buysnus/snuscentral atm. If I had more than a little money, I'd use Northerner because they're the guys trying to get snus in the USA. Buying the cheapest now may very well be at the expense of any snus in the future. I want to see Northerner turn into a behemoth. With size comes power, and they'll have more leverage looking out for our rights to products as we see fit. Northerner is one of us, and the future of snus in the USA largely hinges on their success. The same way I shop at local stores, and try to buy local produce, it benefits my tribe, and ultimately is in my best interest.
Larry's true feelings on Northerner/SnusOn

Isn't that his whole point, raising prices to pay for expansion and whether that'll be effective?Originally posted by justintempler View PostLarry is like the whiney little brother that runs to mom and dad to tattle on his older brother when he does something wrong. Northerner isn't a saint but neither is Larry.
Northerner maintains two warehouses and has to deal with the crap Uncle Sam throws its way, their costs are higher, hence their prices are higher.
Northerner has a long history of buying any conceivable domian name related to snus, they were doing it long before SnusCentral existed.
Larry should have known better. If the Snuscentral.net domain is important he might want to see if Northerner will sell it to him.
If Larry had been smart enough to buy the getsnus.net domain name then Larry would have been able to redirect traffic to his site but he didn't think that far ahead of time.
The SnusCentral.se domain name seems to be available. Anybody that wants it can buy it.

As long as you are the single point of reference on what constitutes nasty. It wouldn't be astute to shut down your competitors websites if it were legal? Lol.Originally posted by lxskllr View PostLegality is irrelevant. Laws are written by by criminals to support their own agendas. DDOS is nasty, but taking similar domain names is strategically astute.

The difference is the website is already owned by someone, and by interfering with that, you're damaging someone else's property. Buying a free domain name is astute strategy. It seems pretty clear to me. I guess that's why we have so many laws written by the functionally retarded. Nobody knows how to think....

The snus central name is most certainly property, and if it's trademarked this domain would most likely be given to whoever owns that trademark for cyber squatting. Your name is property.
Sorry, that's not functionally retarded.

There's no such thing as illegal cybersquatting. Those (few)rulings were drafted by criminals to further their corporate puppet masters. If the domain is available, it's free to buy. I know almost nothing about running a business, but I do know you purchase any free domain name extensions you think are relevant. That's what free capitalism's about, not having your corporate interests propped up by the government.
Edit:
Nice martyr play there dude. Throw out a thinly veiled LoL, they turn in the martyr card. Coward....Originally posted by Simplysnus View PostIf I'm too stupid to post or understand your enlightened manifestos, feel free to ban me. Vitriol in place of civil discourse is a win win.

LoooooLOriginally posted by RobsanX View PostBusiness competition sometimes gets nasty. I think it has to do more with personalities than anything else.
Have you seen the latest Coke Zero v. Pepsi Max commercial where the Coke guy throws the the Pepsi guy through the window? That's not very far off the mark.
Never seen anything like that ...

The domain name is an issue....
If they're functioning as a brand with that specific name ....
It must not be contained in a domain name by some else....
I know someone that had a domain that contained "Amazon" ... that domain was making 5 figures a month ... and eventually amazon sued the owner and won... pretty weird... but there are dozens of similar stories...

PM didn't have any horses in this race. They didn't have snus, or a mail order presence. They /did/ have the power to influence legislation. I want a snus-centric company to have that same power.Originally posted by TheJanitor View PostUh, Phillip Morris says hello. Power just leads to corruption. PM was THE biggest backer of PACT.

It makes you wonder if all Phillip Morris really accomplished by aligning themselves with these anti tobacco groups was shooting themselves in the foot. Yeah OK, PACT went a long ways towards killing off the Native American tobacco business and hurting the smokeless tobacco retailers but every time legislation like this gets passed we just get one step closer to outlawing tobacco in all forms completely. PACT will in the end do nothing more than hurt the big corporations that helped to get the act passed. Northerner somehow saw an opportunity in a minefield called American politics and took advantage of it. Pure serendipity and very smart!Originally posted by TheJanitor View PostUh, Phillip Morris says hello. Power just leads to corruption. PM was THE biggest backer of PACT.
