Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself.

I quit a 25 year smoking habit back in January with some help from ecigs. Not long after I started using snus also. A few months back I quit the ecigs and started using snus exclusively. Normally about 3 portions a day. A bit more if I'm having a few beers :-)

Just wanted to say how happy I am using snus rather than cigarettes. I never thought I'd be able to quit the dirty smoking habit, but with snus I don't even think about it.

Good for you for quitting smoking! I quit by using patches and Commit lozenges, but couldn't afford them, so switched to snus. I need nicotine to function normally. When I don't have it, I can't even remember which side of the road to drive on. Once I was driving on the wrong side of the road in heavy traffic, realized it quickly, and pulled over to the right side just in time. It totally freaked me out once I realized what I'd done and that I could have hurt someone.

Some people need nicotine to function normally. I'm one of those people. It's probably a brain chemical thing. I get all A's in college as long as I have nicotine, but when I don't use nicotine my brain doesn't function right. I went three years without it once, but those were the three worst years of my life! I didn't accomplish anything and was barely able to go to work every day. Just can't adapt to life without it, but with it I'm perfectly normal and I excel at anything I do.

      Go figure...

Hey Patrick, welcome to the snus family. Congrats on eliminating smoking. Many of us here have similar stories. I generally chain snus and use about 8 portions a day. Good luck and enjoy the forum and feel free to ask any question, you will get an answer.

+1. I've never had a neurological diagnosis, but I know my brain chemistry is radically different from most people's. I can tell by the way certain medications affect me, in addition to needing nicotine in order to think clearly.

              Welcome, Patrick!

Welcome to SnusOn, Patrick and congrats on kicking the smokes.

Snus helped me get rid of a 13 year pack and a half a day smoking habit back in June.

Quitting deathsticks is good, now enjoy some tasty (safe!) tobacco.

                          Welcome!

Welcome Suds and good work on kickin' the smokes, man. I love snus. You'll find a nice bunch of people here but watch out for the crazy bird man...

Dreed2...you're in Mass...driving issues are not abnormal here...with or without nicotine.
