Hi there yet another newbie joining up, I'm living in Australia and Snus (and snuff) is not something you hear about down here for some stupid reason hell they look at tobacco pipes as only something grandpa does to kill boredom at the retirement home, I have never met anyone that I at least knew was snus'ing but been reading up on it all the last few weeks (about 3 days of lurking here, big thanks to a recommendation) I've made up my mind and it's time to try it out.

Like so many others it seems, I'm also interested in the idea of dropping the ryo's and all it's bad tidings. I guess now I need to get reading to see what is good to start off with and what online shops I can get it from I'll cut it short and get back into it....... love the forum, it's a massive wealth of info' for me.

We have a few Aussies here, so maybe one of them can give you some good tips. I think it's a PITA getting snus there, and you have to order small quantities to get through customs, but I don't know the particulars. Northerner and Buysnus are the two big sellers, so maybe try something from them. I'd keep it at 5 tins or less. You'll get raped on shipping, but there's a greater likelihood of the snus getting through, and less risk if it gets seized. Take this advice as provisional, until someone more experience can give input.

Thank you and yes our government is always on the grab, 50g or 50 sticks max with baccy of any description, keep in mind for all visiting that's the limit on postal as well as people entering/returning here (I won't rant but omfg)...having said that not every single package can get searched every single day so comes down to who wants to take a chance.

We certainly won't be doing any group/bulk buys down here that's for sure lmao.

On the unfriendly tobacco issues, I don't understand why the smokeless options get further pushed under the carpet when it's the cigarette's they have the issue with wouldn't the smokeless avenues for a start be a far better option, why are the people in power not caring is what I wonder. Latest is some dropkick well to do from N.S.W. is trying to make it so all tobacco users are forced into having licences, yes he said forced
Ok I'm not ranting, just finished reading the online articles and well......maybe it's time to consider moving OS.

I'm going to be trying to do what I can to get the options known in my neck of the woods, half the guys at work think I'm weird as hell but interesting at the same time everyday they ask if I have something new for 'em haha.

I didn't want to start another what should I try thread, hopefully I don't get on the bad side of some by posting here....

I've decided to go white & portions for ease etc starting out, as a smoker looking to drop the stinky sticks I was thinking the mid range nic' levels should be ok to start off with. Since we have the issue we do down here with importing anything fun or enjoyable plus I'm new to it all I was going to try for 3 cans and take it from there. Since I like the peppermint and spearmint flavours I've looked along those lines at first.
What I've chosen so far is these 2.
-Jakobsson's mint strong portion @ 14mg
-Nick & Johnny crushed ice extra strong portion @ 15mg
Not sure yet on which one to chose from the next 2.
-Thunder frosted longer plus @ 16mg
-Thunder white Raw frosted portion @ 21mg (for if/when I need that little extra)

I would love some input from those willing to go through another help a nub' query (understand if ya don't we're adults after all ) especially being a smoker and the nic levels I'm looking into being ok to start on.

I've only had the Jakobssons, but it's a favorite of mine. It's pretty sweet, but I like the taste. I use it more as a dessert snus than full time, but I don't use portions much anyway. Strong snus is a fairly recent invention. Most people that quit smoking with snus did it with standard strength snus at 8mg/g. I use minimal starks, and it's only to get flavors that aren't otherwise available. You'll have to be the judge for yourself, and use what you like. With nicotine especially, you can't really say "since you previously smoked x, you'll want product y at z strength". Everyone's different.

I like the N&J Crushed Ice, jaks is good but very sweet, I don't like thunder raw but thunder frosted is ok, its not sweet, the N&J has a very slight sweetness to it but I think that comes from the tobacco, jaks is like a polo mint.

The Thunder Frosted Longer+ are actually 12mg nicotine per portion. Each portion contains .75g tobacco and they "fit" a little better than regular portions as they are long and skinny. They are handy in case you need to be discrete for some reason. I didn't care much for the Thunder Raw either, the flavour of Frosted is better IMO. I much prefer the taste of Frosted compared to the other two you've chosen - they are too sweet for my tastes.

It's been a few weeks since my last post here (sick missus, end of year, moving house) so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all to begin. I have been able to open a couple of eyes to snus it's surprisingly hard to get people to look outside their shells but I'm getting there.

Since there are so many new comers like myself I thought a little list of my trials, and comments from who ever feels like it wouldn't hurt, plus I'm still a newb' and trying out an array and who doesn't like feedback, I took on what was said here and pondered many choices and so far have...

General mint white - surprisingly I'm not a fan of the type of flavouring used but I'm not sure what it is I generally love all mint flavoured anything.
Mocca Black Maple midi - not too bad of a flavour but it seems to have a bit of licorice which I'm not a big fan of.
Odens Cold - this is definitely a favourite but I had 5 portions break so will have to consider if it makes the roll list.
Skruf Slim Fresh white - although the mint has a strong hit at first it lasted for so long I like this and will no doubt be on my roll list.
Thunder Frosted Longer Plus - definitely top of the list so far, the slightly higher nic' level I feel keeps the demon at bay easier too, straight on the roll list.
Gotlandssnus Julesnus - it's different not too sure about it as yet later testing to be done.
Offroad Eucalyptus white - this isn't too bad I like it for something different, I would like a can to be in the fridge for when ever I feel the need.
Probe whiskey - this also isn't too bad and would be like above something I could keep a can in the fridge, just not a 'go to'
Thunder Coola Extra strong - the coola flavour was a little different but the strength was nice, tough choice on it maybe a later review.
Thunder Cool Orange Extra strong - wow this one certainly has citrus flavour a plenty, the first flavour hit was orange and I had no complaints it was great but very quickly the orange was shoved aside by the citrus and it came in strong, I like citrus but this was too much for me.

Little note is these are all portions.
I think the fun part is finding which ones you like, after this order I'll be able to have atleast a small list I'm comfortable ordering rolls of and hopefully be able to mix it up some. If this helps anyone feel free to say so also if this annoys anyone then tell me to shut it lol.
