I agree with OP. Mod actions tend to come across more as a slap in the face than friendly suggestions. As if we are but children who need to be put in our place. It's quite off putting in general and creates an atmosphere where new people don't feel they can do anything but contribute "this is whats in my mouth" or "this is what's up my nose" right this second. 50% of my threads get locked with a link because someone else asked the question so&so many months/years ago.

Snuson is like work, Don't be too loud or too proud, Reduce your banter to the lowest common denominator and above all else don't piss off, insult, talk back to or upset your manager (mod) or you'll be written up (locked thread/warning) and/or fired (banned)

Answering the same questions over and over is what you do in a forum. Because as new members come in new opinions and points of view can be expressed. New conversations can off-shoot and new members can build bonds and friendships with other members both old and new. None of these things can be gained from using the search function.

Forums are for discussion and community building. If the old people don't like that then hey nothing is keeping you here. No one should encourage and demand stagnation in a forum. At the end of the day if people just wanted information then there are far better systems for gathering it then searching forum databases. If you don't understand that then wake up and smell the coffee/vanilla snus.

But hey enough of that shit, I finished a can of Gotland Anis today and have a Ettan Los in my mouth.. :-\

Angry I disagree with your take

As a member........and then later as a mod................I have found the vast vast majority of the people here to be kind, respectful, and more than willing to help new comers. I consider the folks here as my friends.

People have not always agreed with me.................but I have always felt free to speak my mind.............and have always felt that I was given a fair hearing..............I in turn have tried to do my part to return that respect in both what I post and how I post it.

The forum is getting bigger...........and yes while there are other resources that people can use to find out about snus...............this site does aim to be one of those resources...............and in my opinion it is one of the best, most comprehensive, and engaging of those resources out there.

So we do need to be stewards of the site. We need to keep it manageable and conducive to people finding answers to their particular questions.

But keeping the site clean and being the Draconian state that you have depicted are miles apart........I am still not sure how we went from the simple house cleaning that every site does from time to time (i.e. a few of your posts were merged with another related thread)....................to a site wide demand that the plebs fall in line and and shut up.

Anyway.............I hope your continued participation here will be a much more positive experience for you in the future.

PP's alright, just a bit OCD regarding clutter. I wouldn't take any of this personally by anyone. PP was cleaning up, and thought posting a notice about searching would be a good idea. It is; sort of. The people that need to see it won't, and the people that don't need to see it get pissy :^D

All the mods here have different ways of handling things, and that's part of our strength. If we were all the same it might be pretty cool, but then again, it could be pretty shitty. It depends on how the sameness is. I have full confidence in all our mods. I enjoy "working" with them, and posting with them as members. Remember? we're all members here too :^)
