copenhagen changing dates on its long cut?

It used to have date on the can that said when it was produced and I know it was a good can if it was less than say 7 days from the can - 3 days would be great but now my local store looks like they are getting cans that say FRESH UNTIL (3 or 4 weeks from now) which covers up the date it was made.. Anyone else see they and how can you tell how fresh it actually is? Is there some logic that people know about how old it is by this new date format?

It's simply easier to figure out when the tobacco is fresh. An Altria rep told me that Copenhagen is good within 28 days of its born on date.

Are your longcut copenhagen cans plastic?

If I recall correctly, the copenhagen longcut that is sold around here comes in a plastic can with a fresh until date, while the fine cut comes in a fiber can with a manufacture date.

Depends on what copenhagen you buy.
Today I bought a can of Long Cut and a Can of Natural Extra Long cut.
Both are Fiberboard tins.
Long Cut is "MADE JAN 17 2011"
Natural is "SELL BY JAN 30 2011"
