Brown teeth - some do, some don't

I've been testing different snus brands for about three months now and observed that some brands really make my teeth brown whereas some hardly show any traces.

Ettan would be one example for the former: It's a damn tasty, but after a day at work, having had no chance to brush my teeth, they look like chocolate. Grov did the same.

Diplomat, on the other hand, didn't stain them that badly (Which was one reason why I loved it that much. Rest in peace, my friend.)

    Anyone else observed this, too?

I'm usually using regular portions, by the way.

White's leave me waiting for the flavor for too long - I've always been one of those impatient kids.

    Ah, while I'm at it:
Thanks for the Miswaak-tip, Zero. Love it.

I have definately noticed this. Why spme leave my teeth brown and others do not baffles me.

Nonetheless, I keep a toothbrush in my car for occasional whitening of the choppers while im away from home and dont want to look like I brush with chocolate

I agree about the Ettan - and I've used white portion Ettan and come out brown.

any suggestions on "non-browning" snus, then?
i've benn going through a can of Lucky Strike Original for the past two days and they seen to fall in this category.
they also remind me of diplomat a lot, which is a huge plus in my preferences.

I've never had a problem with Goteborgs Rape white portions giving me brown teeth. You might want to give those a try.

I've been using Skruf Stark Los the past couple days and have noticed my teeth stay much whiter than they do with and SM product.

Gustavus is the one that gives me the brown tooth, I don't know why. It's almost always the one tooth directly below wherever the portion is placed; I always freak out a little when I see it, but it always brushes right off.

Science should be able to make colorless snus by now, if they're not even going to spend their time on hoverboards, lightsabers, or distrans.

The already have, but colorless also = tasteless. Vin&Koksnus 6mg color and tasteless snus from wise. But I prefer hoverboards and lightsabers.

                    Remember that old joke?

I asked my dentist, "What can I do about these yellow teeth?" He said, "Wear a brown tie!"

When I went from smoking to chewing I got stains in less than three months. My dentist asked me what the hell I had been doing. I lied. I was using Colgate Total for whitening. It was obviously not working during those three months. Well, to make a long story shorter I read about UltraBrite toothpaste as being a really cheap toothpaste that was great at whitening. I used it for two weeks at night before going to bed. All the stains were gone. Not bad for 99 cents toothpaste.

By the way, I was using Longhorn fine cut (U.S. Tobacco). I would not suspect that snus has the staining power of Longhorn. I just don't know since I am still using UltraBrite at night.

You're right there. When I tried out snus and found it to be such a great treat, I also ordered some American Dip to try. Kodiak, it was.
I found the artificial flavors to be somewhat overpowering, so I didn't stay with that, but I definetly noticed that it was way more aggressive on my teeth (and gums, of course).

Yeah, Xobeloot, I noticed that as well. And it SOO delicious. I love it.
It's a shame I'm too much of a pussy to use Lös when I'm out and about.

When I originally saw this topic I had already gone through about 2/3 of the portions that buysnus sells and had never had this problem. I've always had great teeth, and have used crest whitening for many years (due to being a smoker). However, I hadn't run into Probe yet . I tried that last Friday, and by the end of the day my teeth were completely brown! I was shocked, and it was really unfortunate because I really liked the smokey flavor of Probe. Toothpaste seems to get rid of the brown color, so it's ok, but I guess I won't be ordering that again.

Question: Has anyone had this problem with Onyx, Knox, or OC? I'm down to only a couple tins left (already ordered more tonight) but I need something for tomorrow that won't cause this problem.

I can't say Knox didn't stain my teeth at all, but it definitely didn't stain it more than usual. The other two I don't remember.

But, yeah, Probe is probably worst. And yummy.
I think I'm gonna go to buysnus now ;-)

nothing is worse than the sleeping portion. Waking up after falling aspleep with snus and having black plaque grin. Hideous.

I am curious which snus causes the least for business reasons. I want to enjoy my snus privately without having anxiety about brown teeth.
