    Snus and Fatigue.

Lately, I have noticed that my joints feels a bit week and I feel a bit fatigued until I have a portion of snus. Sometimes I come home from work real tired and achy but this seems to go away about 1/2 an hour after having some snus. It almost feels like I am getting the flu. Does anyone else get like this? I am wondering if I have made my body so dependent on nicotine that I cannot even begin to feel healthy unless I am using it.

Dude just eat some meat before you die OK?

    J/K

Seriously, I do need nicotine (and some other things) to maintain normalcy, but I focus on baby steps. I mean we quit smoking cigarettes right? One foot over the other. Keep moving forward...

You probably need to exercise more. I wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee, put a portion in, and get onto my exercise bike for at least 15 minutes and I'm good for the day. When I don't have time to exercise (from oversleeping, for example), I feel tired all day long. I'm hoping to get my exercise time up to 1/2 hour to feel even better. But ask your doctor to be sure if that would be good for you. Taking vitamins and eating right will also help!

There are so many things that fatigue can be a symptom of that it is impossible for us to speculate. If it is for a prolonged period of time and you are concerned, see your doc. He can order you up some blood panels to ensure everything is still working properly.

Well you're probably fatigued, then get a stimulant in your system which makes you energyzed.

You are all probably right but I just keep getting the feeling that it is related to my nicotine intake. I have used 3 original portions in the last 3 hours and feel fine now. I use mini's all day at work and feel like crap.

GoVegan - hate to say it but in my very unprofessional opinion, I think it is nicotine related. Only reason I say this is because what you described is me on a daily basis. Just today I went about 2 hours without snus when I suddenly became beyond sleepy. I don't feel normal nic cravings like I used to with cigs..the irritability, etc..I just get downright lethargic nowadays. But anyway, I get this fatigue at least once a day BUT of course 1 pouch of snus and 10 minutes later, I am back to my normal self. Total nic dependent..sucks!!! But now that it is night time, I haven't used snus in 3 hours, I won't be able to get sleepy enough to fall asleep, damn insomnia..waiting for the ambien kick in. Reminds me - gotta sign off before I type something crazy!

BTW - GoV, I don't know your snus habits but as for me, normal days consists of waking early with General portion & coffee, the next 5 hours is spents chainsnussnig Ooomnph 6mg. Finally arrive home to Skruf Stark los, then dinner, then more SSL. Only time snus is not in mouth is when I am eating or sleeping. SO, the fatigue for me kicks in when I attempt to skip one of those ooomph portoins..big no no. Ok..Peace out, fading fast....

You nailed it. Anything else you do for this lethargic feeling other than use gobs of los?

GV - The only thing that helps is me is more nic! On the few days a week that I am home all day I use less snus but in its place, I use snuff. During the work week though, I dont use snuff, I'm just around too many people, so snus it is! Fortunately, oomph holds me over all day and nobody knows I have it in. It is so weird though to not really have withdrawals as with cigs. Just the extreme sleepiness! Do u ever get that panicky feeling of falling asleep for a second while driving??? For example, i do the long blink and my body goes limp but I realize this, wake up with a jolt, butterlies in the stomach..all that stuff happens in less than a second. I know i went crazy with my description, just trying to illuztrate the severity of my snus 'withdrawal.'

I recommend overall dietary changes for more energy. Way more fruits and veggies. I am not a doctor. Just to mention.

Mellow and lethargic seems normal for me and my state of mind post(smoking). When I was a smoker I was definately more wired and it was always do or die for the next smoke.

                          lol

As everyone has said it probably has something to do with nicotine dependancy.

If he's not getting enough fruits and veggies, I'm afraid to ask what he's eating :^D

GoVegan, I'm going to have to disagree with everyone only because snus (nicotine) has a calming effect on me. While I do realize of course that it's a stimulant, I feel wirey and anxious (ie not tired or not relaxed) without it. I second the exercise recommendation, as well as B-Vitamins. Not to draw more negative attention to your veganism, because you get too much shit for that on here as it is, but it could be as simple as a vitamin deficiency. I've heard vegans have to throw substantial consideration and dollars at reaping the same nutritional benefits of those of us with a more... diverse diet by paying close attention to alternate sources of vitamin/protein intake.
