Ehhh, maybe. It seems to work pretty well, along with eating smaller quantities of food more frequently over the course of the day. At 50g per day, you go into ketosis, which is what Atkins starts off with. But I'm not doing Atkins, and am not going to right now. If I can keep it around 100g, I figure I've had a good day. My problem is that I like bread and English Muffins too much. So I use high fiber bread and muffins that have 20% RDA of fiber per serving. I'd be more worried about lowering the carbs even more if I was closer to being a full-blown diabetic. I'm not, at this point, but I suspect that I have become insulin resistant. I think the U.S. RDA for carbo is still like 300-400g? That was great when Americans were still working in factories and on farms, but in this era it's insane.

So I'm just kinda keeping it on the lower end of the scale, making sure that the carbs that I am eating are on the good end, and keeping the fiber up high as well.

It's good you got it figured out so you don't have to put up with feeling that way.
And again, I don't think that nicotine is *causing* this for me. If that were the case, I expect that I would continue to have this trouble while using nasal snuff. But I'm not. So I suspect that the amount of nicotine that I've been taking in with snus is simply exacerbating an existing problem.

150g of carbs is almost nothing. My daughter has 60g-100g per meal depending on planned activity. With 150g per day, you hardly get anything that tastes good :^D

Would this have no effect on a Type 1 like my buddy who puked?
I assume their pancreas no longer produces insulin.

He's doing OK on General Mini Mint now. He ordered a few cans before PACT.

Nasal snuff barely delivers any nicotine at all, if any. It takes quite a heap of the stuff to get even a bit of a buzz. With drier snuffs, this can be problematic, unless you like pain.

So if you only sniff a little at a time, you're not taking in nearly as much nicotine as snus. The satisfaction you're feeling from it is probably psychological. Then again, nicotine addiction is primarily psychological.

Not in too big a quantity. Also, think of the stuff you like with meat that has a bunch of carbs. Potatoes, roll, rice, cheesecake :^P :^D

I never cooked a lot of meat around the house. Spam is probably the meat I mostly made. I've been fixing more lately, but I mainly concentrate on sausages and fish. I'm not that crazy about steak, especially for the price.

                    So, nitrates and mercury?

I have no room to talk. I haven't eaten anything without a good PAH load since the 80's.

LaZ is probably breathing a sigh of relief you're not his fiance.

I'm bumping this thread because I think I have the same issues. Right now for instance. I had two General Ekstra Sterks in a row, ate a meal (a pretty small portion though), took a hit of nasal snuff and went out on a walk with my dog after I had eaten. In the middle of the walk I started feeling weak, shaky, and hungry - low blood sugar.

I also think I have that problem in the morning as well. I usually feel a bit shaky an hour or so after I've had my morning coffee and snus (always in school but never at home for some strange reason). This can come and go through the day; feeling shaky, nervous etc - and I actually think this may be because of low blood sugar. I'm pretty skinny (I don't look sickeningly skinny though) but I weigh almost nothing considering my age and height - and I can't seem to gain weight whatever I eat (like Frosted).

I'm thinking this is from both the snus and the coffee actually (more - or noticeable when combined - I have not been caffeine free a longer period since childhood). Both puts the body in a fight or flight response which dumps glucose in the blood stream to get extra energy (this is one of the causes of nicotine addiction btw - you're not only addicted to nicotine but to sugar rushes) for flighting or fleeing a potential danger. This then makes the pancreas produce insulin (which is less effective because of nicotine?), and the sugar levels are lowered. But how they get so low that they produce symptoms of hypoglycemia, I don't know. I've measured my blood sugar lots of times (many of them while having a snus in), both at the doctors, and at one of my relatives who has diabetes type 2 - just for fun. All the times my blood sugar is perfectly normal. This is very strange...

I do eat pretty bad though... Not bad food, but at bad times. I usually go very long stretches without food. This maybe is the problem.
