I notice that the General Mint was doing the same, so it must be the tingling from the mint that is part of the issue??

    Anyway, thanks for the replies.
Not trying to say you shouldn't use the Orajel if it helps with the discomfort. Lord knows I'm on enough medications for symptomatic relief and I am a great believer in relieving pain so long as the underlying issue is addressed.

I was just concerned that you might be putting Orajel on the painful area then assaulting it with more Thunder Frosted while it was numb!

Mint (and wintergreen) can definitely be irritating to the tissue in your mouth. There's no better time to try out some new flavors! If you like flavored sterks, Thunder Berry Blend gets good reviews. And there's still some of the legendary Claq Qui available at some sites (BuySnus.com has it). If you like bergamot, General Extra Sterk is also excellent.

Seriously, when I look back at my first two weeks of snus'n, my biggest problem was numbness in my gums. Of course I was a month + quit from all smokeless (my former Copenhagen and which it ALWAYS went in the bottom lip anyhoo) so figured it was mainly the top gums/lip area getting used to the nicotine transfer. Happy to say, I don't get any kind of oral irritation whatsoever now, only occasional numbness when I have a lös snus in for like 2 hrs +

I think if I would have even attempted to use Oralgel, I woulda ended up just chewing off part of my lips not even knowing it. So again, in my case it wasn't mouth pain but the opposite, numbness to get over...

K- I hate Thunder Berry, never again

I have some GES, 02, Skruf ES and my regular portion rotation. Any sterk is killing me if I chain them. I just have to watch how many I use in a row and so far that is working.

Sea salt soaks is one of the best things you can do for your mouth. Warm water and a pinch of salt. Swoosh that around for one minute and repeat 3 times a day.
I use General Wintergreen all day long on the right upper. I like the drip so much on this one but when I lick my lips it really irritates the hell out of them. I started using Grov, Skruf original white, N&J as my break between the wintergreen and my lips feel so much better.
